The Lily of the Valley Stole is a beautiful wrap, featuring the lovely Lily of the Valley lace pattern which is a traditional Estonian design. Little bobbles called “nupps,” mimic sweet sprays of flowers. The stole is worked by knitting a lace edging from which stitches are picked up to knit the main rectangular body. Then it is finished by knitting another lace edging and the stitches are cast off in the Estonian style. Recommended for Intermediate lace knitters, in finished measurements of approximately 73˝ long by 28˝ wide after blocking fairly tightly, it uses 3 balls of Fiddlesticks Knitting Exquisite (50% mulberry silk/ 50% merino wool - lace weight - 545 yards per 50g ball).
