Willoughby, designed by Jared Flood, is a luscious lace stole that can be worn as a wrap for evening wear, or as a cozy scarf with street clothes. This beautiful version, knit in elann.com Pure Angora by Janie Bradberry, was the winner of our Winter 2012 Elann Yarn Project Contest!
Suitable for intermediate knitters, the original Willoughby measures 13" by 60" (72)" and uses 570 (760) yards of DK weight yarn, which works out to 12 (16) balls of elann.com Pure Angora. Janie knit this version to a finished size of 16.5" wide and 52" in length, using just 7 balls (336 yards) of elann.com Pure Angora! Its yarn economy and ethereal beauty were achieved by leaving off 8 reps of the pattern and by using 5.0mm (US 8) needles for an open, light as a cloud drape.
This pattern is available for purchase as a .pdf download from the Ravelry website.
