Featured Design: Classic and feminine, this lace pullover, above, designed by Gabrielle Hamill and knit in elann.com Limited Edition Luxury Marl and elann.com Silken Kydd by Maggie Tietjen, is from Vogue Knitting Magazine - Winter 2003/04. In sizes S, M, L (finished bust 33, 37, 41"; finished length 20.5, 21, 21.5"), the pattern calls for 784, 784, 882 yards of yarn knit to 20 st/4" over moss stitch for the body and 540 yards of laceweight (33-40 st/4") yarn for the yoke. We calculated a substitution of 6, 6, 6 balls of our elann.com Luxury Marl and 3 balls of our elann.com Silken Kydd. Maggie found when she knit the sample (shown in size M above) that she used only 1 ball of elann.com Silken Kydd for the yoke. Our elann.com Super Kydd is also a laceweight mohair, with even greater yardage per ball than our Silken Kydd, and would also be a good substitution for the laceweight yarn used in the yoke. |
