  • This reversible semicircular double garter shawl was inspired by the painting The Sower, by Vincent Van Gogh. The shawl is knit from the top down, and double garter stitches give it a soft, puffy drape. Suitable for beginners, it measures 72" by 24" when knit in bulky or worsted weight yarn, and 51" by 17", when knit in fingering weight yarn. The version shown here used 400 m (436 yards) of fingering weight [27-29 st/ 10 cm (4 in)] yarn.
