Using three traditional Shetland lace motifs, you will be able to produce an elegant scarf or stole in four sizes. Knit in one piece end to end with edging knitted as a you, a simple change in the sequence of the patterns creates a seemingly complex design of negative and positive space. A small scarf (7" x 42") uses 185 yards of Lace Weight (33 - 40 st/4") yarn. A narrow stole (14" x 78") uses 600 yards. A medium width stole (19.5" x 78") uses 850 yards. A wide stole (25" x 78") uses 1125 yards.
