This reversible semicircular double garter shawl knit in elann.com Peruvian Baby Cashmere, was inspired by the painting The Sower, by Vincent Van Gogh. Designer Shui Kuen Kozinski first knit the shawl in a Van Gogh mix of sunny colors, arranging her double garter pattern in a sunburst motif that is equally if not more dramatic in a solid color, as photographed here. The shawl is knit from the top down, and double garter stitches give it a soft, puffy drape. Suitable for beginners, it measures 72" by 24" when knit in bulky or worsted weight yarn, and 51" by 17", when knit in fingering weight yarn. The fingering weight version shown here uses 4 balls of elann.com Peruvian Baby Cashmere.
