Ann Cannon-Brown - President and Creative Director

In 1993, while on a maternity leave from her job as a college instructor in Cranbrook BC, Ann was thrilled to find herself with the time to knit, but quickly discovered that it was difficult to find good natural fibre yarns to work with. So with the help and support of her family and friends, in that same year, elann was born!

Robert Cannon-Brown - VP Finance and Production

Robert's easy way with people and his background in business management and marketing have been cornerstones of elann.com's development and growth. He likes to read and travel, and he doesn't knit.

Flora Yang - Manager of Accounting and Production

Flora loves playing with numbers every day.  Since joining Elann.com, she has become a self-proclaimed "knitting maniac" as well as our star crocheter.  Flora finds that combining her hobby with her job gives her the best of both worlds.

Shane Anderson - Production Assistant

Shane is a university student, and works at Elann.com delivering our parcels to the border, shifting heavy boxes, packing orders, and doing all the other odd jobs that need attention. Although he might not admit it, his mother taught him to knit when he was 5 and he made a number of scarves for his stuffed animals.

Lorill Anderson - Customer Service Representative

Lorill was taught to knit at the age of five and enjoys intricate lace and cable patterns.  She is one of Ann's knitting elves and enjoys answering your emails and phone calls.

Maggie Tietjen - Customer Service Representative

Maggie knit many sweaters for her family when her children were young, but as often happens fell out of the habit as they grew up. Since joining us at elann.com, she has again picked up her needles and now just can't seem to stop - quickly becoming one of our most prolific knitters.

Mayumi Wright - Customer Service Representative

Mayumi taught herself knitting and crocheting from books in Japan when she was a high school student. Since moving to Canada, she has been learning North American methods of knitting and crocheting, and is enjoying working with beautiful yarn from all over the world!

Mabel Lau - Order Processing and Inventory Control

Mabel is an avid gardener and was taught to knit by her mother when she was 10, but didn't take up knitting seriously until she was in her 20s.  She particularly likes knitting in the round and at work she enjoys the opportunity of seeing all the new yarns as they arrive in the warehouse.

Irene Alston - Order Processing

Irene was taught to knit at age 5 by her grandmother but it wasn't until she was in her 20s that she began to really knit.  She prefers lace patterns to all others and is one of Ann's knitting elves.  Irene finds this aspect of the job to be especially enjoyable.

Alicia Borowy - Order Processing

Alicia began knitting in her teens and especially enjoys knitting larger items such as coats.  Her favorite yarn to work with is mohair.

Lynn Lin - Order Processing

Lynn prides herself on a job well done. Before she joined us she did not knit, but in a few short weeks had a number of scarves under her belt. We look forward to watching Lynn's knitting prowess develop, and are happy to help her along the way.

Karen Jang - Order Processing

Karen is a beginning knitter, with some experience as a child to draw on. At least one pink scarf is on the needles, and we hope to see many more projects in the future.

Josette Lavoie - Order Processing

Josette grew up in a knitting household, learning to knit when she was five years old, joining her sisters and brother in making items from long cords produced with a homemade knitting spool. Her knitting history spans more than 45 years and, with a fondness for luxury yarns, Josette always has a few sweaters, scarves, or hats in progress.
