SlZES:
Small (Medium, Large, X-Large).

KNITTED MEASUREMENTS:
Bust 33 (36, 39, 42½)"/ 84 (91.5, 99, 106.5) cm.
Length 20 (21, 21½ , 22½)"/ 51 (53.5, 54.5, 57) cm.

MATERIALS:
- 4 (4, 4, 5) balls of Tahki Yarns Java - Color (A).
- 3 (3, 3, 4) balls of Tahki Yarns Java - Color (B).
- 2 (2, 2, 3) balls of Tahki Yarns Java - Color (C).
- One pair size 5.0mm (US 8) needles, OR SlZE TO OBTAIN GAUGE.
- 5.0mm (US H-8) crochet hook.
- Eight 1" (25mm) buttons.
- Yarn needle.

GAUGE:
20 sts and 20 rows = 4"/10 cm in k4, p4 rib.
TAKE TIME TO CHECK GAUGE.

PATTERN STITCHES:
K4, p4 rib (multiple of 8 sts + 4 extra sts).
Garter stitch (Garter st).

Stripe Sequence:
In k4, p4 rib pattern, * work 6 rows A, 4 rows B, 2 rows C; repeat from * for Stripe Sequence.

NOTE:
Front bands are worked in Garter st, then turned to the RS; four decorative buttons are sewn to each band.

BACK:
Using A, cast on 82 (90, 98, 106) sts.

Begin Stripe Sequence and Rib Pattern
Row 1: (RS) K1 (edge st; keep in Garter st); k2, beginning p4, work k4, p4 rib across center 76 (84, 92, 100) sts, end k2, k l (edge st; keep in Garter st throughout).
Row 2: K1, knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you across to last st, kl.
Work even in this way until piece measures 11½ (12, 12½ , 13)" from beginning, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Armhole
(RS) Bind off 0 (5, 5, 5) sts at beginning of next 2 rows, 4 sts at beginning of next 2 (2, 2, 4) rows, 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beginning of next 2 (0, 2, 2) rows - 64 (66, 70, 70) sts remain.
(RS) Dec 1 st each side every other row 1 (1, 2, 2) time(s) - 62 (64, 66, 66) sts remain.
Work even until armhole measures 7½ (8, 8, 8½)" from beginning of shaping, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Shoulders and Neck
(RS) Bind off 7 (7, 8, 8) sts at beginning of next 2 rows; 7 (8, 8, 8) sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 34 sts remain for neck. Bind off remaining sts.

LEFT FRONT:
Using A, cast on 50 (54, 58, 62) sts.

Begin Stripe Sequence and Rib Pattern
Row 1: (RS) K1 (edge st; keep in Garter st); k2, beginning p4, work k4, p4 rib across center 36 (36, 44, 44) sts, end k2 (6, 2, 6), place marker; k9 for Front band (keep in Garter st).
Row 2: K9; knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you across to last st, kl .
Work even in this way until piece measures 9 (10, 10½, 11½)" from beginning, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Neck
(RS) Work across to last 3 sts at neck edge (end of RS rows), k2tog, kl.
(RS) At neck edge, dec 1 st in this way every other row 26 times total; and AT THE SAME TIME, when piece measures 11½ (12, 12½ , 13)" from beginning, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Armhole
(RS) At armhole edge, bind off 0 (5, 5, 5) sts once, 4 sts 1 (1, 1, 2) time(s), 3 sts once, 2 sts 1 (0, 1, 1) time.
(RS) Dec 1 st every other row 1 (0, 2, 2) time(s), then work armhole edge even while completing neck shaping - 14 (15, 16, 16) sts remain for shoulder.
Work even until armhole measures 7½ (8, 8, 8½)" from beginning of shaping, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Shoulders
(RS) At armhole edge, bind off 7 (7, 8, 8) sts once, 7 (8, 8, 8) sts once.

RlGHT FRONT:
Work as for left Front, reversing all shaping and stitch placement; work armhole and shoulder shaping at beginning of wrong-side rows and neck shaping and Front band at beginning of right-side rows.

SLEEVES:
Using A, cast on 50 sts.

Begin Stripe Sequence and Rib Pattern
Row 1: (RS) K1 (edge st; keep in Garter st); k2, beginning p4, work k4, p4 rib across center 44 sts, end k2, kl (edge st; keep in Garter st throughout).
Row 2: K1, knit the knit sts and purl the purl sts as they face you across to last st, kl .
Work even for 7 rows, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Sleeve
(RS) Continuing in Stripe sequence and rib pattern, inc 1 st each side this row, then every 8 rows 4 (5, 6, 7) times - 60 (62, 64, 66) sts.
Work even until piece measures 10" from beginning, end with a wrong-side row.

Shape Cap
(RS) Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows, 2 sts at beginning of next 2 rows - 50 (52, 54, 56) sts remain.
(RS) Dec 1 st at the beginning of every row until piece measures 15" from the beginning.
Bind off remaining sts loosely in rib.

FlNlSHlNG:
Block pieces to measurements. Sew shoulder seams. Set in Sleeves; sew side and sleeve seams.

Edging
With RS facing, using crochet hook and A, join yarn with a slip st at lower right Front; ch 1, work 1 row sc evenly up right Front along neck shaping and Back neck, and down Left Front to lower edge.
Fasten off.

Front Bands
Turn Garter st bands at Front edges to RS; sew four buttons, evenly spaced through both thicknesses, on each side. Tack upper edge to Fronts, if desired.
Using yarn needle, weave in all ends.
