Fold band so that top & bottom edges meet to form center back seam, and sew together.
Bottom edging: Around 1 edge of band, RS facing, using dpns and color B, pick up 84 stitches, distributed evenly on 3 needles, and join, placing a marker for end of rnd. Rnd 1: K1, p1 to end. Rnd 2: P1, k1 to end. Repeat these 2 rnds (seed stitch) for 10 rnds and bind off in pattern.
Top of hat: Around other edge of band, RS facing, using dpns and color B, pick up 84 stitches, distributed evenly on 3 needles, and join, placing a marker for end of rnd.
