Size: Approximately 72” wide at the widest point by 34” long at the longest point after blocking.
Materials:
- 8 balls of elann.com Linus (100% Linen – Aran Weight – 17 st/4" – 105m (114 yards) per 50g ball) - 4.5mm (US 7) 40" circular needle - 4 ring markers
Gauge: Before blocking 17 stitches to 4 inches

Method:
Cast on 5 stitches. Row 1: (RS) K1, M1, K2, M1, K2, M1 in each stitch (8 sts). Row 2: (WS) K1, purl to last stitch, K1. Row 3: *K1 M1*, repeat 3 times, K1, repeat from * to * 4 times (15 sts). Row 4: Repeat row 2. Row 5: *K1, M1, K1* repeat to last stitch, K1, M1 (23 sts). Row 6: Repeat row 2. Row 7: K1, M1, K7, M1, K7, M1, K7, M1, K1 (27 sts). Row 8: Repeat row 2. Row 9: Begin eyelet pattern separating the 5 panels. K2, YO, *K3, YO, K1, PM, K1, YO* 4 times, K3, YO, K2 (37 sts). Rows 10 and all even rows: Knit first and last stitch and purl the rest. Rows 11-24: Continue as set with eyelet pattern, knitting on RS rows, and purling on WS rows, and increasing on every 4th row (67 sts). Row 25: Maintaining eyelet pattern and increases, begin chart A1 as follows: *K4, YO, S2KP2, YO,* K4 (77 sts) Work chart A1 from beginning to end (rows 25-99), then chart A2 from beginning to end (rows 101-165). Knit 10 rows doing increases as set until 347 sts on needles. Next row: K2 sts together at beginning and end of row (345 sts) and begin the points in Chart B (there are 3 points per section) and repeat chart 15 times. Complete each point separately, breaking off yarn and beginning anew with each point.
Finishing:
Block shawl by dampening it and laying it out to dry, making certain to shape it into a half circle, to the dimensions given.



Abbreviations: Beg - beginning, BO - bind off, Dec - decrease, Inc - increase, M1 - Make one stitch by picking up yarn between the two needles and knitting into the back of the stitch, K - knit, PM - place marker, RS - right side, WS - wrong side, yo - yarn over.
S2KP2 - Centered double decrease: 1. Slip 2 sts together to right needle 2. Knit next st 3. Pass 2 slipped sts over knit st and off right needle 4. Completed: 3 sts become 1; the center st is on top
K2tog - Knit 2 together, SSK - 1. Slip 2 sts separately to right needle as if to knit, 2. Knit these 2 sts together by slipping left needle into them from left to right.
