Featured Design: Cropped Lace Cardigan, designed by Anna Sui, is from Vogue Knitting Magazine - Spring/Summer 2013. Featuring a simple lace pattern, it is worked from side to center back in two panels that are seamed and finished with sewn-in sleeves. In sizes S/M, L/XL (finished width 36, 40"; finished length 18, 21"), it is suitable for intermediate knitters, and uses 532, 684 yards of yarn which knits 14 st/4". We knit the L/XL size of this cardigan using 8 balls of Ornaghi Filati Capriccio, using the 5.5 and 8.0 mm (US 9 and 11) needles called for in the pattern, then wet-blocking the more open lace that resulted to exactly the same width and center back measurements as the original pattern garment. We added 2.5" to the length of the front panels for a longer front drape. |
