Would the Waterspun be a good glove yarn? Benne, I don`t have the sample to knit up. I was looking at it to maybe work up a fair isle sweater for my brother. I was going to try to spin some of my natural colored wool from my sheep to knit with it. Do you think that would work?? Do you think it will pill? I love those greens and purples also!! Seems like everything I knit is green and purple though!! But that is what I am drawn to.

Would the Waterspun be a good glove yarn? Shoot - I just went to look again, (first time today) and the color I was thinking of, isn`t even pictured anymore!!! You snooze, you loose. Maybe I should pick out something else or go to the alpaca ???? I can never make up my mind!!!

Would the Waterspun be a good glove yarn? Do you by chance get Interveave Knits?? Spring 2003
I was sort of looking at p. 82 Cable Cross Pullover.
I think that alpaca would be warm though, and my classroom is sooooo hot during the winter. Wondering why I couldn`t make it into a cardigan. The one in the magazine is made of hemp, but the gauge is 21 stitches/4"

Continental style I use to twist my stitches somehow also - back in the 70`s. Not sure what I was doing, but I got it right finally.

moral dilema I teach, and you would think they would want to keep their teachers with the lack of teachers nowdays, but they really don`t care.(They say they do) - I like teaching, but have been stuck with a totally incompetent assisstant (I have been working about 5 hours this afternoon/evening, trying to correct and redo a simple project that she totally messed up. Will have to go in early to work on it more) All three of the teachers she was with, have quit and moved to other systems to get away from her. (I know two of them well, and they have told me that that is the reason they left). Oh well, I was blamed today for allowing her to do this job, even though it is in her job discription. I guess I am suppose to do my job and hers!
I stayed home with my children for about 15 years!! I did get to do everything with them, and it was a good time even though they don`t appreciate it right now. But it does hurt when I think about never getting any retirement!!
My school children 2ND grade, say such cute and sometimes funny things. Today, we were doing some writing and I told them not to do skip lines on their paper and I asked, what will happen if you don`t do it that way? (the answer was, you would run out of space) and one child blurted out, "the devil will get you!"

Whew! Glad it has past and you are OK! We were lucky here - they predicted we were going to have high winds and lots of flooding, so we had taken in all the plants and patio furniture etc. and the radar map showed it right over us, but we didn`t have any high winds. Lots of rain! We have had a very wet summer, and have been dumped on with lots of rain with all 3 of the Trop.storms and hurricanes, so, it wouldn`t take much wind to start toppling trees. Now 2 more to watch!!

Jean, that looks GORGEOUS! It is really pretty! I love that color also!! I am also wondering the width and length. Did you do the annabelle / beatrice cast on?? I can`t for the life of me figure that one out. I can see the desired end result, but not sure how to get there. I hate to be the Dumb Dora of the group, but....

Does anyone else do this? Heather - I guess I was the winner of the biggest `stash` award. Having a big stash, is not really the best thing. I have all this yarn, but I see something I want to knit, and I never have the yarn I really want, or I don`t have enough of the yarn for the project, or..... and so I also drool over a new yarn, something exciting and then I have extreme guilt about buying more yarn, knowing that I have so much already. It`s a terrible curse!!! I try to force myself to at least knit one project out of my stash, before I buy yarn for a project. And I agree that it is really best to buy yarn for a specific project, and that buying yarn too far in advance, often never gets knit up, because other projects come up that look more interesting!!! So, enjoy your searching and planning (that is part of the fun)and find the project you just can`t do without.

Put on you thinking caps Is your cotton/silk a shiny yarn?? It might be interesting to ply it with a strand of wool?? I bought some shiny hand dyed rayon blend that if I can find a color wool I like with it, I think I will try that as it is too fine for me to enjoy knitting up.

Mr. August is thrilled with his reviews! I have a pair of pink PJ`s out of that - never knew that it had a name. They are pretty and comfortable.
Beats a T-shirt!!

I am tattling on myself I love that - pull in that pout before a bird fies overhead and poops on it!! I will have to try that on my second graders!! They will think it funny and often, humor can ease the problem.

Uxbridge Tweed arrived! You are lucky your girls appreciate your knitting! My kids, would rather have store bought. When I decided to make a fair isle sweater for my brother and sister in law for Christmas, my children said they wouldn`t want one. I am sure they would appreciate them, but... not my kids!!

Can you beleive this? When we lived in the country and raised dairy goats, someone moved in about 1/2 mile down the road with a Great Dane. Found our dog in the woods with his insides hanging out (took her to the vet, they sorted everything out and but it all back! Vet said that because the weather was so cold, she didn`t bleed to death!! A Miricle) but we thought a bob cat or ??? Then we saw the Great Dane attaching and killing our Saanen and Nubian goats! When I went to talk to the owner of the GD, he got very irate, and had the nerve to say that they moved out to the country to get away from people like us!!!! Can you believe that? I was so mad. No leash laws in the country. Could not prove much of went on - didn`t have a cameral ready or like with the attacked dog, could not prove that it was the GD.

Just checking in Just thought I would check in....I do read the messages during my rushed lunch time, but am finding little time to do much knitting. School just informed us we have to take an on line course during the whole year for school and I am already taking two classes for my masters each semester.... This is getting ridiculous. It isn`t a job anymore!!They want our entire life!! Anyway, I did look up Cat Bordhi and found that interesting! I also started my moebius, found two skeins of really pretty fluffy mohair type yarn in my stash. No lables, so I don`t know what it is, what fiber or yardage... but started knitting it. Doesn`t seem to be going very far, so decided to do a straight piece, so if it doesn`t get long enough I might be able to use it as a scarf or adapt it somehow. Anyway, still have a little bit to finish the fair isle. Should push myself to finish that. It might be psychological - I know when I finish I have to CUT!! Anyway, have a good week! I enjoy reading what you all are doing.
