Back of sweater finished... Oh Benne, so glad to hear that I am not the only one like that!!! I hate having to do the sleeves. This sweater I am working on told me to do the sleeves first, and now I am almost done with the body, and it is such a nice feeling to know that the sleeves are done!!!!!

Will the day ever come ..... Seems like it is one thing after another that prevents me from finishing my sweater! This week my old Golden Retriever must have had a stroke, or some major neurological problem. Trying to decide if we should put him to sleep. Bless his heart, he is a fighter, - have seen some improvement and he isn`t in pain, so I am just waiting to see if he improves more. We will see. Master`s classes wrap up for the summer on the 26th, but teachers go back to school August 2. I am up to the arm holes and the sleeves are done! I have plans to do another one with yarn that I will spin. I promised it for a Christmas present, (I never said what year!!)

Will the day ever come ..... Goldens are special. The only bad thing I can say about Max is he sheds - and he can`t help that. Max is about 13. Although pure bred, we did get him from the pound, so I am not exactly sure of his age) Whatever happened to him, he wasn`t able to walk or even stand for a while. Refused to eat or drink. Tilts his head to one side and had rapid eye movement. He has improved some since Tuesday. He can now stand to pee, and walk a little way (but is like a drunken sailor) can drink water and keep it down. Still refuses to eat (did eat a little milk bone ) but has gotten some of his spunk back. Last evening we carried him down the steps to the grass (made a stretcher with a blanket) and left him there while we went inside. He didn`t like that and barked to let us know. He also growled at Dixie when she got too close to his little milk bone. So...we will see. He isn`t in pain. If he were the decision would be easy - so will give him awhile to see if he can function???
Patricia, where are you in Wisconsin??? I grew up in Wauwatosa and my husband in Waukesha. I went to school in Kenosha and lived in Wisconsin Rapids when first married.
I know my sweater will get done - A little over a week till we get a break - a short one since school will be starting, followed by more master`s classes!! Oh well... I am not complaining, I am thankfull I have this opportunity. Just wish I could do everything at once!!!!

Will the day ever come ..... That it is! We don`t get back to Wisconsin very much any more. I do have cousins around the state, and some good friends but our parents and grandparents have all passed away. Went to Eagle River area in 1999 for a vacation. I keep hoping we could plan a family reunion - would like to go back and see everyone.

Fair Isle Sweater problems... HELP! I am not sure if you can fix your problem or not - worth trying. But I was going to say the same as
Alice, that the Philosopher`s Wool method of weaving in the extra yarn being carried makes for a nice smooth product. Before I learned their method (there is a free vidio on their website)I would either have big loops (over compensating because I didn`t want it to pucker) or I would have pucker. Check it out before your next project.

Benne: Chinese remedy Don`t laugh at me - but when you say entire chicken, do you mean from the grocery a whole bird, not cut up - When you say `entire` you do mean the insides taken out though right????

Survey-What`s on the needles- I am still working on the Philosopher`s Wool fair isle cardigan. I have the sleeves done and the body up to the arm holes. Had to put it down, this Master`s program is demanding all my time and effort right now. And school is starting next week already. So long summer vacation!!! I do have plans to do another of the Philosopher Wool sweater, but spinning my own wool for it????

Shui Kuen, I got a chicken, cluck-cluck I was given some bantams a couple of years ago.
Didn`t know they could fly!!!! Now I know where the term ` "Flew the coop" comes from!!
Hope your chicken soup works - be sure to let us all know.

Dr. time again Libby - my advice is not to worry - the worry is most likely worse for you than the weight! As long as you are eating the `good for you` foods. My mom always told me that the baby is taking as much as he or she needs. I lost weight during my preg.(morning, noon and night sickness) and had a 10 pounder!

Knitting Retreats A knitting retreat sounds great! I have always wanted to go to Scotland - and 2006 should be graduated!! Now, if you can get me on a plane, that is another thing - I have reservations to go to Belgium this fall, don`t know if I will get on the plane or not. Never use to mind flying....
