Slipper Soles

Thats so clever. A couple of wks agoI bought a roll to keep a child I work with from slipping off his chair. it works well for that, and I`ve got all the excess. Now I can draw from your creativity and use it that way as well.

If I may say so, yes to blue. Initially put down 20, (eyes to a sweater) then changed it to 6. A sweater will come in due time. Too busy trying out lace patterns and getting my stash down - though I could NOT resist this Debbie Bliss order.

A fascinating story of one who can overcome their disabilities. She has such a radiant smile.
Thank you for sharing that with us

Mr. Joe is finally an FO!
|
That is SO LOVELY! May I ask, is that the pattern from Noro? I recall seeing the sample in a store and fell in love with it. Yours has a beautiful drape to it. Is the ruffled part a solid color? You do need to do a blog and post your pictures so we can get a better look!

more for the stash

Heading to Point Roberts today. I have a box of yarn waiting for me there. Not even sure what to expect.
I recieved the box of DB cashmerino (ssoo soft) and a skein each of HL silk (soo eager to try this one.) and wool. I will use my final ball of Mister Joe with one of these skeins.. likely a bag for a gift.
i am enjoying everyones photos. Beautiful work which is so inspiring.

Mr. Joe is finally an FO!
|
Yes, thats the very pattern i saw while on vacation in Central Oregon. i saw the real thing on display the last two summers and really was affected by it. My sister has the book and spoke of making one for herself. I`ll wait and see if she has gotten to this pattern. Boy, I really do like yours in Mister Joe... only 5 balls eh? =P sigh sigh sigh.. (holding my breath and attempting to master self-control.)
I missed what you said about the contrasting color ruffle. You made the once-drab color shine against the other colors. Such a good choice.

more for the stash
|
Hi Jayne! I too enjoy your blog from the FOs, WIPs, to your touching thoughts. I exercised self restraint and bought six, (not 20 that I originally considered) skeins of the cashmerino. I have no idea what I`ll do with it, but thats the least of my concerns right now. Right now I am adding one more WIP.. using Christmas gift plans to make felted bowls. I will simply knit all night and see how far I go with one project. Hope it doesn`t take forever. I had a lovely drive to Point Roberts and literally tore the box open to find some good varigated yarn from KP and the rest of the needles and cable to complete my Options needle set. I`d love for Elann to come up with more varigated yarns. (Mister Joe in Ice Wine is prodding me for some attention and I am trying so hard to ignore him.)
See you soon!

My Pamir came! Oh yummy!
|
i know i get a bit sporadic here.. Ive been wondering about this Pamir, but the rookie I am, tends to get a a bit muddled about things. Forgive me. As I grew up more visual, I think I just need to come and have a look at this stuff. What was the black sweaters content, again? =P Suzie

Sandra D , Your Katrina shell

Yes, you do look delighted this time. The shell is adorable. You must knit these things up in a hurry. Right now I am really testing my speed. I do KNOW: I am S-L-O-W.
Still, inspired and plugging on!

Hope to update soon, likely a WIP!

SWS shopping

Thank you everyone for your input. I was in Abbotsford today and dropped into Michaels. They had marked it down a dollar (from 6.99). In Richmond I bought it two weeks ago at just under 5 dollars (reg. 5.99, go figure.) I asked how I can be informed of sales and they did say the local free paper will have a flyer every Thursday. She wasn`t sure if that was for across BC or in Abbotsford only. I also came across more colors than in Richmond. I have enough to make two wide scarves.

Odour in stored yarn
|
I`ve used the Eucalan product in Eucalyptus and find the scent heavenly. Some may not like it though. You can get a neutral scent I think.
I`ve also used FeBreeze spray, a brand new product bought about 4 years ago when my daughter acquired a musical instrument that had been locked up in a velvet lined case for years. It helped remove the staleness and didn`t damage the material. I notice they have added to their line since.
Let us know how you make out - I`m very curious to know what you use and what worked for you!

Grace - scarves?

Hi Grace, I hope you are doing well. I tried to track down your post about an experience about seeing scarves that inspired you so much it was literally taking you away from shawls. Can you tell us again what it was that moved you?
Thanks, Suzie

Oh, Oh, Bets!
|
I`ve had strange email problems in recent days. Got a reply to a message I sent the middle of last week with an urgency to doing things immediately and got the answer yesterday as if he`d gotten it just then. I guess my email had to travel in cyberspace a couple times around before getting to him. Weird.

Whatcha Knitting??

Hi Jayne,
I emailed you last night and just realized your email system may still be down. Is Knit Night on for tonight? I could drop in if I hear from you before too long. (I need to get to Abbotsford for an appt.) Will see if I have your phone number...I hope I`ll have energy to be there and show you "whatcha knitting." Look forward to seeing you soon!

New Knitting Magazines
|
Your comment made me laugh. 10 hands to knit, no kidding! I also wish I had 10 more eyes to see more patterns for inspiration. I went to Jaynes knit night tonight and lo and behold, I`ve gotten myself in trouble. Twice I`ve been there and I dont even knit, I just dream looking at her books and mags and talk about what to do with my growing stash. Meanwhile everyone knits and gets a few rows done. Next time I NEED them to tell me to start casting on something!
