Need yarn advice I want to make the Cozy on knitty.com but I don`t care for the yarn they used. I was thinking of switching it to the Peruvian Alpaca or the Austermann Mohair. Can anyone give comments on either of these yarns.

felting gjestal naturgarn Glad to see it felted well. I have a couple in my basket right now for a felted bag for SIL. The colors are just gorgeous and it was a hard decision on what to buy!

Bets-Thank You LOL! I have a reminder in my palm for the day prior and will be late for work so that I can get my order in!

I am going to use velvet and the silvery grey color.

Jo Sharp Mohair I am planning to do a scarf from the Jo Sharp mohair and am going to use 2 different colors. Just wondering if I should add a heavier yarn to give it some weight. Never done this before...ideas anyone...

Jo Sharp Mohair Thanks Bets! I will use the 2 colors together and not striped. I liked them both and thought instead of choosing between them I would just use them both!

As for the blanket...I wish I could take all the credit but I just followed the pattern. I finished the blanket this week and am itching to get started on my felted bag with the yarn that arrived yesterday.

Roll call-whatcha working on this week??? How`s the Christmas giftlist? I am working on a tote bag with Gjestal in Cranberry. It will be felted and a gift for SIL. After that I will start a ski hat and scarf for FIL and a scarf for MIL. After all that I may work on a prayer shawl for Step mom but between work, school and volunterring that may have to be a "happy spring" gift instead of Christmas.

I`m so excited My mohair arrived yesterday and I can`t stop petting it. It is so beautiful and the color is exactly what I was anticipating. I also got my gjestal superwash wool for FIL hat and scarf. It is also really soft. I can`t wait to get started.

Highland Wool I love the colors of the Highland Wool! However, I don`t know a whole lot about it.

Is it worsted or chunky?

Is it as soft as alpaca?

I was going to use alpaca for a shawl for SM but am thinking that highland wool would be more cost effective.

highland wool OK, I am sold!!!!!

The wrap is going to be in the highland wool and it is so cheap that I may make one for myself too. That should keep me busy for the 125 days that hubby is out of country. Oooh and maybe a nice vest too...and a sweater...and next years Christmas...

Now I have to go stress over which colors to buy.
