I am dancing like Felipe Rose!
|
Bets you`re so funny. Until I read the message I thought it said "Pete Rose" and I am thinking Betsy has been placing bets on baseball! I bought 10 skeins of each color of the Rio with no plans for any of it so if you are in need let me know.

Bets the hat turned out great, any other plans for the Taj? DD is quite the beauty and looks pretty happy with her hat! Good Job!

plymouth outback wool/mohair
|
Hi Susan I`ve used the wool but not the mohair. The wool is wonderful, very soft, great stitch definition and it has nice elasticity. About the only thing that I could say bad about the wool is that there were a couple of knots in the skein, but because the yardage is so big it didn`t matter much.

ButtonDrawer.com
|
I placed an order for buttons on line at ButtonDrawer.com a few days ago. Last night I received a phone call from Diane at buttondrawer.com. She was calling because my credit card number had been entered incorrectly and she needed the correct number so that she could process my order. Well, me being fearful of given that information to someone on the phone,I told her that I would go on line and check it out. I got it taken care of and within seconds I had an email from Diane apologizing to me for having upset me with me her phone call. What a nice place to do business!

Japanese Beetles
|
Is anyone else having a problem with these critters? This is the 4th. year in a row that they have eaten just about all of my cutting flowers.I have used a trap in the past and it worked well, but this year I`ve not trapped one bug. I have heard that they have not yet made it west of the Mississippi.

I made a cardi with Bliss Cotton Denim and it did not twist at all when I pulled from the center. It is very nice to work with.

Knitting Retreats

Benne, Europe is out for me, I just can`t not summon up the nerve to travel abroad. It is not the flight that has me terrified. It`s a good thing DH understands so we will be meeting in Canada at the end of September.

found: copperhead killed fleeing the scene of the crime

Benne you are 1096! Glad the dogs are doing better. I have a bunny living under my deck and he literally teases my poor boys, I`ve actually seen him smile as the boys raise their mouths to the sky and howl!

Is it wrong to expect a little help around here?
|
Oh Bets, how awful for you. I`ve been told that girls are worse than boys about that kind of stuff! I raised 2 boys, one was and is a neat nut and the other was and still is a slob! I told the slob at an early age that in the common areas of the house I would not tolerate his messes, but his room was his just keep the door closed. That is how I managed to see him to adulthood. I was thankful that his personal hygiene was impeccable. I know that this doesn`t make your experience easier, but sometimes it helps to know that others have gone through the same thing, and I`ve learned to pick my battles.

Patricia, that is one gorgeous poncho!
|
Boldilocks thank you. I do hate to finish things and I am so excited about knitting in the round. I have a few things that I need to sew up, and then I hope to make myself a pullover in the round. I do have that B&B to finish up too, oh and then there is that shawl... well you know how it goes. I did manage to find buttons at Buttondrawer.com for the Einstein. I bought several different kinds and when I showed them to DGD#2 she picked one of each, a pig, a pink bow, a pink flower and a yellow birdhoue trimmed in pink. I am anxiously waiting to see your White Lies Jacket. Oh Eileen have you seen the movie Agnes Browne? I watched it last night and thought of you. If you`ve not seen it I would recommend it. DH and I were hoping to visit Ireland in the fall but I can`t seem to get over my fear of being in a foreign land. Thanks again for your kind words.

Thanks Benne, no she has not seen it yet and I hope that she isn`t too disappointed cause the girl loves purple and the poncho is navy. Waiting to see pictures of your creation. Hope that the doggies are on the mend. Poor things.

Seeking Advice Please
|
I`ve submitted a photo of a shawl that I am attempting in the Tajmahal and I would like opinions on what you think of the pattern. Does it show off the yarn enough, or not enough, should I perhaps use bigger needles for a more lacy effect? Thanks everyone. I am making it for when I meet DH in Canada in September and I would like it to be special.
