Poncho knit in the round
|
It is a childs poncho that I am making. It is for my 6 year old granddaughter. I am probably only half done but normally it would take me days to get this much done. I can`t wait to see your vest Shui Kuen. Your work is exquisite.

Bets this yarn is OUTSTANDING! It feels wonderful while knitting, it is very soft and has alot of elasticity to it. I had not trouble with splitting stitches either, and that is sometimes a problem for me. You will not be disappointed!!

Eileen the colorway is Amethyst Lights. I am making it for DGD#1 who is 6 and her favorite color is purple, at least it was last week and the week before it was pink! The picture is a very true presentation of the color and you`re so right it does look good enought to eat. I should be finished with it by tomorrow and will post a picture.I LOVE THIS YARN

Oh Alice!

Very pretty tam Alice. In my youth I always wore a tam, it was my signature! Was the pattern difficult?

Incredibly frustrated!!!@@#!$%^$&

Libby if you learned something from this experience than you need to consider it worth it. Be sure to makes notes and attach them to the pattern so that when you make this pattern again you will have the info on what to do and what not to do. I think that knitters tend to be very critical of their own work. I hope you will post a picture. I envy that you had the courage to attempt a fair isle.

Survey-What`s on the needles-
|
I have another candleflame shawl on needles. DH has asked me to make one for his interpreter. I can not start another thing until I have it finished. I am looking for a shawl pattern for the Taj so if anyone has suggestions please send them my way.

Poncho Done!!!
|
It was a 2 day project. As you know DH is off on an adventure so I am home alone, just me and my dogs. Yes I was able to make this poncho in 2 days but if anyone had come knocking at my door the past 2 days I would not have answered because I was not fit for human eyes, in fact the dogs were beginning to look the other way! I pretty much did nothing but work on this project. I did have a near catastrophe when winding a ball of yarn. I do not know how but the dogs got into the middle of the skein just as I was about to pick it up from the floor and place it on the back of a chair to wind. Of course it got dragged all through the house and was such a mess. Me being the most impatient person alive almost thought about pitching it, but I love this yarn and decided I would save it. It took me over 6 hours to painstakingly unravel over 300 yards of yarn and put it into a ball. It is done and I am happy and I will make more things in the round.

No Theresa the poncho is for her sister and the einstein is for her other sister. I am still amazed at how much faster it is to knit in the round.

The pattern that I used for the poncho is Knitting Pure & Simple and I used less than 500 yards. The pattern calls for fringe and has an optional hood.Size range of pattern is 2 thru 12. I`ll bet that your DDs change their minds soon, ponchos are everywhere, in all the stores and catalogs.
