Happy ending?
|
Heather what wonderful news. I don`t usually share real personal information in a public forum, but I must tell you that after DH and I were married for 10 years we also had some very difficult times. 25 years later we are still together and are best frieds as well as husband and wife. The most important thing, as least in my opinion, is to keep the lines of communication open. Hold your head up high, regardless of the outcome.

Survey Question
|
Libby I am so non technical, my knitting is for the pleasure of feeling the yarn, watching something spring to life and bringing back childhood memories. I can read and re read a patten but until I actually work the stitches I remain clueless. Great question by the way.

Eileen Scrabble is my favorite game and no one here will play with me unless they can use cuss words! I finally bought the game version for my PDA and play it all the time.

Will the day ever come .....
|
First of all "hello from Wisconsin". I have 2 older goldens and at one time had 4. I am sure that your decison is a very difficult one and you will do what is best for him. My boys are 13 and 11 and the oldest is going through terrible 2`s again. If I am on the phone he will beg to go out and once out he will beg to come in. He has developed and ravenous appetite for cardboard and not to long ago shredded a skein of white buffalo. In the past year he has learned to open kitchen cupboard doors and drawers so nothing is safe from his quest to find cardboard. How old is your guy? I am sure that you will make the right decision as to what is best for him but it is hard. Best of luck to you.

Benne how is the poncho thingy for DGD going?
|
I am just about done with an Einstein for DGD#2 and have decided to make a poncho for #1. The pattern that I will use is from Knitting Pure & Simple and I am going to use some Lorna`s Laces Shepherd`s worsted weight in the color of Bittersweet. Have you every used Lorna`s Laces? I have not and I`ve heard only good things about it so I am anxious to receive it.

I could not decide on a color for todays offering so I got 10 of each color. It looks stunning! I`ve never worked with rayon before and I do not know what I will make with it, but shoot, that`s never stopped me.

Jean that is so funny. I wonder if the magazine would print it anyway with a caption. It is so nice that you can laugh at yourself, and I am laughing with you not at you.

Knitting in the round question
|
I am about ready to begin my first project in the round. It is a childs poncho and I have been swatching in the round just to get a feel for it. Is there a way to avoid the gap that I seem to be getting where the article is joined?

Beautiful Einstein, Patricia, You`re and Einstein!
|
Thanks Benne, but you know that you only have to sew the sleeves and shoulder seams. It would be laying in a pile with the cotton sweater that I need to sew up if it required more sewing than that! This yarn was a real bear to work with. I did get some purple to make the other DGD one, but I think she will get a poncho instead. Thanks again for your kind words.

Poncho knit in the round
|
I`ve just submitted a picture of the poncho that I am making in the outback wool. I started working on this project only this morning. I can not beleive how fast knitting in the round is and I cannot say enough good things about this yarn. If anyone was unsure about purchasing it "just do it". You will not regret it. Thanks Macchick for encouraging me to try knitting in the round, it is wonderful
