Egypt Bound Miss Benne I thought that I`d read somewhere on this board that you had made a trip to Maryland and met a few people from this chat center. I guess that I was dreaming. (lol) How is this for excitement, I get to take the bus to the post office today, and I just might treat myself to a vist to wally world. Life doesn`t get any better than that.

Knitting with my Mom Theresa you brought tears to my eyes! I miss my mom so much but while she was alive we shared so many laughs. Mind you that this is the woman who made, and used, a whoopy cushion the first time I brought DH home to meet the family!

HELP! Suggestions for sewing raglan sleeve I`ve finally finished my cotton sweater and as always have completion issues. Is one way better than another to sew a raglan sleeve? I am seriously thinking abouts Bets suggestion of sewing it on the sewing machine. All suggestions welcomed.

Having a terrible week Pat I am sorry to hear about your awful week. I`ve learned that if you do not dwell on things that upset you they soon pass. This board is a great place to vent and then move on. Tomorrow is another day.

HELP! Suggestions for sewing raglan sleeve I sewed it by hand using a backstitch, but I don`t like the way it looks. Also, there is more to the finishing than I first thought.I need to pick up stitches and graph the collar. Not sure how to do it so I am no further ahead than yesterday. I need to think about this a bit longer!!
Chicago was good Bets! It is so funny to me that at our age we have to go out of town to a hotel to have time to ourselves and be alone. Our kids would never think that we would want to be alone!

Any Shawl Maker? I need help I am just about finished with the body of the Candleflame shawl and am not sure about how to do the border. The pattern reads:
Repeat rows 21 through 30 until desired length and width. P one row.

- Garter Stitch Border -

CO 10 sts.
K 9, Sl 1, (K 2 tog, pass sl st over), turn and knit back out to to the edge of border.
Continue in this manner until all the stitches along the top have been worked.
BO 10 sts loosely.
Weave in loose ends and
Do I cast on the 10 stitches to the needles that have the body of the shawl? Could someone explain these instructions a bit better for me?
Thanks

Marion`s oh so special weekend.... Marion perhaps Abu Dhabi isn`t such a bad place after all. Just kidding of course. she will move on to another "victim". When DH was a cop he dealt with several people with mental health issues and it is not easy for anyone.

Your first project: Mine was a baby blanket for a friend made out of redheart yarn. I picked it up to work on and some how I turned it the wrong way and made my first "short row".

Something that every woman must do! I`ve just returned from my semi-annual mammogram. I have some lumps and bumps that are being monitored hence the semi-annual.
Please please please everyone be sure to schedule a yearly mammogram. It is so important that we take care of ourselves.

A frustration only you all would understand Oh Jean, I feel your pain. How disappointing, but as you said that is beautiful country. We use to live in Heidelberg and would go to Stuttgart often.

A frustration only you all would understand Jean when I lived in Heidelberg in 1969 I did not know about the blue laws and hung laundry out on Sunday. I spoke no german and our landlady spoke no english. She brought me my laundry basket filled with all of my wet clothing and just shook her head! I learned quick that it was a no-no and never did it again.

A frustration only you all would understand That is very kind of you Jean, but what I miss about Europe can`t be sent. I am trying very hard to get over this fear of travel that I`ve recently developed. DH would like to visit Ireland in the fall and I am working on getting up the nerve to fly. Thank you for your generous offer, it is deeply appreciated.
