Benne the pattern that I sent to you has the corrections, and I know not how much yarn it requires the directions did not say.

Completion Issues
|
I have finished knitting "Not your mothers suit coat" and a sweater of Debbie Bliss cotton denim aran yarn, but they need to be sewn up! I have lost all interest in these projects and was wondering if anyone else has this problem and if so how do you deal with it. I know that if I do not put them together right away they will never get done. This happens to me often, I just want to start something new with a different yarn

I`ve never been interested in shawls either, at least not until I tried on a sleeveless dress and realized that my arms are way to fat to be seen by anyone other than family! I will pass on you kind words to DH.

ME TOO! I haven`t been able to read lately either and for me that is bad. Picked up Oprah`s new book club book "Anna Karenina", Tim Russerts book Big Russ and Me: Father and Son--Lessons of Life,The Knitters Book of Finishing Techniques Nancie M. Wiseman,Knitting from the Top by Barbara G. Walker and a couple of other books on Kosovo and I can not stay interested in any of them. I have not yet attempted to sew up my finished projects, the dust has turned to dirt everywhere in the house and I could probably knit a sweater from the dog hair that is on the carpet. I just sit and daydream most of the day. DGD#2 asked me if I was thinking about Paris, do not know where that came from. DH will be home in 9 days, and I really do need to get cracking on something! Spent the day yesterday playing tag, red light green light and swimming in a kiddy pool.Best day ever!!!!

No Les I didn`t change the shape of the coat, I used WB and a bulky Cherry Tree Hill and I am having a very hard time sewing it up due to the bulk, especially the sleeves. They just do not look right, I`ve sewn them in 3 times and have not been pleased with the way they look. Maybe 4 will be the magic number.

Benne this child is mystical! I love Paris, one of my favorite places in the world! I`ve bought everything Madeline for the girls and even bought them dresses from Paris. Sierra (DGD#2) knows that I love it there and she asked if I would take her there because she wants to see Madeline.I took high school french and say thing to her in french all the time and she giggles and says those words sound pretty. What a joy it is for me to look into her eyes and see the world differently.

Confused musings-
|
Wow, this topic really hit home with me as it is something that I`ve been mulling over in my mind for some time now. Please do not misunderstand this because I love this country, democracy and the all of the freedoms that we enjoy, but having lived in Europe I`ve seen how much family means there and how generations live together and how values are past on.I think that those are a few of the things that we have lost in this country. There is no accountability for ones actions anymore.I can remember being spanked by a neighbor when I was a child and did not tell my parents because I would have been punished by them for causing someone to spank me. My hero is my husband and I will tell you why and hope that you do not think it hokey. Growing up poor and mexican was not easy for him, but it taught him how NOT to treat people. It did not make him bitter or mean it only made him more eager to show those who mistreated him and his family that they were wrong. He became a police officer who did not consider it a position of power, but he used it to help people, especially unfortunate kids! He was a problem solver in his job and I`ve lost count of the number of kids who have written him letters of thanks and letters to the editor of our local paper about him. He formed a baseball team of 15 16 and 17 year olds, the kids no one else wanted on their team because they were "losers". He taught them discipline and responsibility and how to play as a team and to rely on one another. They didn`t win a lot of games, but they were richer for the experience. He made a difference in their lives and he led by example. You will never read about this great man in the paper or see him on the nightly news, but he is a man of substance and he is my hero.
