Oh Benne you are so kind. I will look at those colors on line and decide. Thank you for your offer and your help. I have some primavera in skye it is very pretty and I don`t normally like shades that light.

Well my plan was to use it with the norwegian #1 yarn for an Einstein. I do have enought skye in monet maybe I will just use that. Thanks again Benne

Benne I was there too I love the Morroco and I don`t know why I`ve never liked such light colors. I am a red person to the core. Thank you for all of your help. I`ll let you know what I decide to do okay?

I just frogged an entire top
|
Oh Benne I feel your pain. I started a cabled sweater the day after DH left hoping to keep my mind busy. It was my first attempt at working from a chart. I started it 5 times. There are a few mistakes but they are on the back and I can live with them. But last night I picked it up to work on it, at the end of the row I had to add a new ball of yarn and about half way through the row I ran out of yarn. Yep, I`d picked up the wrong end!!! I`ve put it away for awhile, perhaps forever.Hence the hunt for yarn to make an Einstein since it is just garter stitch I should be okay with that. So beleive me I do commiserate.

Ladies DH asked how the "girls are doing"
|
Finally got a chance to "chat" with DH this morning and he asked how all of the girls are doing at elann. I told him Bets finally got her taxes done, Timmy is having a birthday soon, Benne is flirting with the devil, Eileen Theresa and Benne are going to Maryland...... So he says hello to everyone "Greetings from Zubin Potok, Kosovo!"

I feel your pain. I had peridontal surgery every three months for about 4 years, top and bottom.You talk about pain.I am deathly afraid of needles, panic attacks kicked in every time that I went. One time the shot wore off and I could feel them cutting open my gums but I didn`t want to say anything (like you can talk with all of that stuff in your mouth) because I was more afraid of the needle than the pain of the cutting. Then because my jaw bone was wasting away the dentist did an artificial bone implant to rebuild my jaw bone and it turned out that I was allergic to the artificial bone!

It is Official
|
I am so excited, happy,ecstatic,overjoyed,thrilled,euphoric,elated,jubliant and down right on cloud nine.
DS #2 is officially engaged.Did I mention that I am extremely happy. I love this girl and she loves him and he loves her and they are so good to one another.
My son never had a girlfriend while in high school and DH and I thought that perhaps he was gay. While he was away at college I would, on National Coming Out Day, send him an email asking him if he had something to tell us. The answer was always the same, "My Sexual Orientation is none of your business". We didn`t care if he was gay we just wanted to know. Well for his junior year of college he went to Florence Italy to study abroad for a year. While there he met a girl from another american university and the lighting bolt hit him.That was seven years ago and they have been together every since. They are both very very private people and do not want to make a big deal out of this. They do not want to have a big wedding, in fact the villa that they lived at while in Italy has a small chapel and they are thinking about returning and getting married there. She is doing her residency in pediatrics and has made a 4 year commitment to the Air Force when she completes her residency.
Did I mention that I am pretty darn happy about this.

Sirdar Snowflake question

I really like the feel of this yarn and would like to make an Einstein for DGD using this yarn. I swatched my sample and it is just so soft. I am wondering if it would be strong enough for a jacket because that little strand that all of the plush is on seems to be mighty small. I tugged and tugged on my swatch and it was just fine but I would hate to do all of that dreadful garter stitch (it is all that I can concentrate on at this time) and have it fall apart after a few wearings. Any opinions, suggestions?

Marion this is wonderful for you. What a great opportunity. You can adjust to the absence of another unless of course it is a pet. The reason that I am not in Kosovo with DH is because I would not leave my 2 golden retreivers. They are both in their mid teens and they would not survive longer than a month. I wish you the best.
Oh, should also mention that John Kerry is talking about doing away with the tax free income for US citizens working abroad.

Thanks everyone for your well wishes. Did I call DH? You bet I did and he was almost as happy as me. I say almost because I think that there is a special relationship between moms and sons just as there is between fathers and daughters. I`ve raise my sons to be caring and giving people. They show their emotions,cry when they need to and laugh alot too,stand up for what they feel is right, but listen to both sides of a argument and most importantly, at least to me, they treat everyone with dignity. So for me to see him with someone who appreciates these qualities in a man is wonderful.
So thanks again to everyone.
Eileen DH and I were married in a civil ceromony with 8 other couples, assembly line fashion.That was 35 years ago and still no proper Catholic wedding. Broke our families hearts but that was our choice,not the breaking of the hearts rather the civil wedding.
Theresa while they were in Florence they lived at the Corsi Villa in Sesto just 6 miles from the center of Florence.

Congratulations Alice, you should be very proud of yourself. I worked at a private liberal arts college for many years and although we did not offer MA degrees I saw alot of people return to school after being away for many years. It is not an easy task and you are to be commended.

Forgive me for posting political messages on this forum I will not post the CNN article but provide a link to anyone who is interested.http://www.cnn.com/2004/WORLD/europe/04/17/kosovo.shootout.ap/index.html I haven`t seen anything on the news about this and beleive me I have been watching constantly.
DH went through training with these victims less than a month ago. It took place near where he is stationed. I have asked him to come home, but he feels that he can make a difference there. My answer to that is "not if your are not alive".
So the reason for this post is to ask those so inclined to remember him in your prayers.
