Bets - Eileen`s self image

Self image problem? Is that something new? Doesn`t everyone go through that at some point in their life? Man I sure have had my share of those, but have finally learned that I am who I am. Durning one of my bouts DH told me "Look Patricia life is not a popularity contest.some people will just not like you,no matter what you do! I like you just the way you are",and that was the last time I had one of those! It is what is inside that is important. I have a son who, all through his youth, was different, ie:he would not wear clothes that had designer names on them,he refused to advertise for someone and not be paid for it (his words, not mine). He had few friends but that was fine with him. A teacher in grade school told me "he hears a different drummer and let`s not disturb that drummer". He is a wonderful caring adult, with hair too long and a style of dress that is his own. He found his niche in the world and is currently working in bio-chem research on the flesh eating strep virus. He will make the world a better place to live in!

MacChick- The Medieval Gothic Shrug--easy-fitting; a tracery of Gothic
|
The Medieval Gothic Shrug--easy-fitting; a tracery of Gothic windows with medieval pointed sleeves, in softest alpaca.I found this pattern and thought of you right away. The pattern is only 5.00 and is send via email, but the pictures are pretty good and you appear to be a muti talented, maybe you could figure out the pattern. This is a lovely shrug, in a soft alpaca with Gothic window patterns in the lace, a moss stitch border, a rolled collar at the back, and pointed medieval-looking sleeves, with or without fingerloops. It works in any dk to worsted weight fiber, from wool to mohair, or a blend with silk. In alpaca it drapes like heaven, and is designed to stay on the shoulders without assistance. For a really wonderful medieval look, wear a garment of brightly colored silk underneath it to show off the tracery of those Gothic windows.
The fit in this garment is truly customizable. It is knit as a basic rectangle with pointed sleeves, and runs 52 inches from cuff to cuff, with a 25 inch back length. Once the rectangle is knitted, it can be blocked to a considerably different size in both dimensions as desired. Finally, when sewing up the cuffs, you can end the seam at the cuff, at the elbow, or go all the way to the underarm ---it only takes a few minutes to try them all. Each version hangs and wears entirely differently depending on your own hip size and shoulders. The elbow length version is the one pictured here, but they`re all lovely. Has anyone every made this jacket? The kit costs 260.00 and it looks to me like a good way to use up scrap yarn instead of buying more. Here is a web site to view the finished jacket http://www.suzannesknittingyarns.com/2ndten/item006/koiguori.htm

WOW! Pretty heavy stuff before my third cup of morning coffee . I think that when people use chat`s to communicate it allows the reader to "listen" to what the person is saying. While the influctation of voice and body language is missing the reader is truely paying attention to the words and not thinking of what their response is going to be as we tend to do in verbal conversations. I find this place a haven and thank you for bring up the subject!
