ebay yarn??

Hi there all. I`m fairly new to knitting and have a wonderful knitting store in my area. I have recently be browsing the ebay yarn sites though as the prices are 1/2. I just notices some warning posts. I`m new to this site so I missed the talk a few months back. Can someone help? thanks

Thanks so much. I agree that I would not feel comfortable asking for assistance if I had not purchased the items there. I actually just signed up for a 6 week lesson beginning in January for intermediate knitters. I`m really looking forward to it. Michelle

I`m new to this site and have been reading over past postings. Some talk about seeing the picture of a particular item. Is there somewhere I should be looking to be able to view the photos? Thanks

New Berocco Yarn

Has anyone out there seen the new SUEDE yarn that Berocco has for Spring? It looks beautiful. So much like real suede. Just wondering if anyone has seen it, used it or knows the price. Thanks

Heidi your sweaters are so beautiful! I`m sure that they are loved and appreciated. I am somewhat new to knitting and am currently in an intermediate class AND LOVING it! I truly have the bug. Can u recommend good quality yarns to use other than Berocco? I`m in the process of doing some sleeveless turtlnecks and shells for myself. I`m using Mission Falls on one and Berocco ribbon yarn on another but I could use some advice when purchasing. Thanks and once again I am really impressed!

Hi MacChick! U gave me a chuckle I`ll tell ya. I am a newbie and totally addicted! I`ve been sellin "stuff" on ebay, accumulating $$$ in my Paypal account ANd finally had enough to pay my 1st subsript. & samples from elan AND 9 ball of Berroco Luxe!!! I`m lovin` it!

knitting swatches
|
can someone answer what is probably an obvious answer to a "novice" question. when knitting up swatches to get the gauge of yarn, is it always done in stockinette stitch or is it done in the stitch that a particular pattern calls for? I guess my question has come up since I just received my 1st sampler from elan. I`m knitting up the yarn to see the texture, but do i knit in the needles recommended for the attached patterns? and if so, how then do you purchase yarn without knowing what item you are going to make first?
If anyone can figure out what i`m trying to say, please help?! michelle

berroco and socks

two unrelated items but...has anyone seen the new berroco cliche` yarn?! it is so pretty! i`m hoping to find it soon. also.........how easy/difficult is it to make socks? Michelle
