Oooohhh!! Would you look at what`s coming tomorrow! It looks exactly like some yarn my daughter brought me two Christmas vacations ago and immediately turned into a gorgeous scarf for her in just a couple of days, in the middle of the holidays bustle... Only, it was called Samba Madil then and made in Italy. We have not been able to find it anywhere since, so I`m wondering if there was a merger of companies here.
I am swimming in yarn, but this is beautiful and very fast to knit. Quite a temptation!

You Never Forget Your First Time... Those are absolutely beautiful! Who could resist wearing them right away?!
You are getting me closer to muster the courage to try felting - after Christmas, that is...
Thanks for posting.

Denise needles - price on the rise? Hi Gaile,

Here`s my two cents. I don`t have Addis but love my bamboo needles. I got Denise because I was going to need several different circular needles, and the set gives a lot of flexibility for what turns out to be a very reasonable price. They have been highly recommended here, and I agree. My set was supposed to be a christmas present to me, but I have been using it left and right (I may still wrap the box and put it under the tree...). My hands love them, they are great for lace because the points get under several stitches very easily, and knitting mohair with them was great and went very fast. The only con is that they do not come in small sizes.
Hope this helps you.

Smitten... Oh, that looks soft and cuddly - destined to become one of your friend`s favorite scarves, no doubt.

Okay, let`s take it up a notch! I just saw your post, so sorry it had to happen in frigid weather and so close to Christmas. Then again, it would be no fun otherwise, would it?...
Keep your sense of humor up - if your DH gets tired of it and doesn`t finish the job, you can always recreate the western movies scene of a big steaming tub in the middle of the kitchen...lol

Sandra! Very nice, both scarf and "model". Give him a hug for cooperating - or is he in a "don`t touch me" phase? lol

Felting HW As usual, Jean, beautiful works on your blog. And Santa`s pictures are sweet!
That purse looks sooo chic!!! Are you making two in different colors, or for different people?

Peek! Do you think this yarn has a similar texture to the Falkland that was available about a year ago?

The birthday calendar! July 15th is the day!

PS: How do you get the time -and energy - for all this?! Thank you.

Okay, let`s take it up a notch! Bets, so glad that your electrical crisis didn`t have melting results, and you were well rewarded. Your DH has good taste - but then again, we already knew that...
Maybe you already know this tip, but when fuses "jump", you are supposed to bring them all the way to the OFF position before pushing them again to their ON position. Does this description make sense to you? (I learned it from my electrical engineer DH.)
Enjoy your new pearls!

Peek! Benne,
I was asking - obviously not clearly - about the Katia Zarina coming up tomorrow. I do receive the newsletter but this is an "extra", and the picture reminded me of the Falkland.

You are right about HW and the other Peruvian Collection yarns - all I have tried are fabulous. I am trying hard to finish this week a sweater for my DGS#1 in the baby cashmere I bought about a year ago, and it is soooooo nice to work with I almost don`t mind the long time it takes on such thin needles - "almost" because I still have another one to make for his younger brother. They will probably be "just-after-Christmas"presents...

need simple pattern for filatura di crosa supersoft yarn Hi,

I had very good results last year with seed (or moss) stitch on 13-15 needles for scarves made of Falkland, which is very bulky. They turned out very warm, but flexible and soft, and totally reversible. Very fast to make, too.

Benne must have gotten her hot water... Benne, take it easy. You know what the doctor says, lots of rest and fluids. Your well-being is much more important than perfect decorations or whatever you are not ready with.

Marta - who is further behind this year than ever, but will take it all in stride...

Playing Catch Up Libby, it`s good to see you finding time to knit and keep up with the news... You seem to have the motherhood thing down pat!
Happy holidays. I know they are going to be extra special, being the first ones with your little bundle of joy.

Oh, and stay warm. I lived 4 years in Ann Arbor in the early 80`s. It does get COLD around there!
