Interchangeable needles
|
I have had my Denise set for about a month. I just love them. Tho I have a lot of needles it seems I never have the right size or the cord length I want. I know there are ways to get around the cord length thing but it`s never as good as having the right length you want. These are great and the cord is so nice and pliable. No need to do the hot water thing. go for it!! Les

Nirvana! BC box arrived!
|
Oh, the things we do!! As I left the house yesterday,I grabbed my box, grabbed my Denise needle set, - and made a quick slit in the tape to help opening later. I knew that I had some time between visits in the morning. Ended up parking in an alley behind a store (after I scored some sale clothing) and opened the treasure box and started playing!! Les

Jo Sharp Silkroad Aran "Ingrid" questions

I haven`t knit with this yarn but I do agree with a change to the neck. It looks a little awkward and too long for my neck! I like your idea about the rib above the cables. It is a pretty sweater. Les

Another knitting related injury
|
Oh, you poor girls. For comic relief, I wish you could hear my friends story about slipping in the parking lot and dislocating her middle finger. It should have been pointing north but was now pointing west! Ya, it hurt. A kind couple took her to the hospital and as they drove, she said she couldn`t look at or talk about it or else she would barf!! The story was so funny because as she made her way through the "pros" in the hospital they would all say Ewwwww! and pass her onto someone else. Finally to the "hand man" who fixed her up and gave her exercises to do. Hope you both heal quickly. Les

Cardi edge suggestions needed
|
I too was glad Alice posted. After swatching many stitch patterns with my Baby cashmere, I decided to double up the yarn and started the band of the Knitty.com coronet hat. It`s a braided cable. It was a bit narrow and so I needed an edging. Did the pick up and knit in st st so that it rolls back onitself. so far so good. It was a wee bit loose (ie circumference) so I hope this snugs it up. Good for those days I don`t want hat head. Les

Didn`t your DD buy YOU 2 books on felting which were in the mail? Hmmm!! Have you/he received them yet? I bought 2 books from Amazon just before Christmas. I used the "super saver shipping" option. I keep checking and they still haven`t been shipped - nor is there an explanation as to why!! do you suppose if I hadn`t chosen that option, that they would have been here by now? The date keeps getting later and later when I check. The irony of it all is that one of them was that new book Quick Knits for Gifts or something like that, with the pic of the little pale green bag held in someones hands. Les
