Shelmack! Silk cardi looks great! Wow! Please tell me that you didn`t just make that sweater since the turino went on sale. I feel like a slug! It is just gorgeous! What a classic style. You`re going to love it. I didn`t buy any of that yarn but it was my fav. of the 3 offered as it is so soft. Love the muted shades too. Now you have to divulge which pattern you used!

One more VERY important Father`s Day thing to do.... Aww, Bets, I`m so sorry to hear about your FIL. Sounds like a great guy! I`m guessing he was just in his 70`s. Too young! Sounds like he and your MIL created a close family. Will be thinking of you.

Do everybody deserve to have the best ? Oh, Shui Kuen, I want to cry for you!! Were they those "Silver Islet" socks? The only mistake you made was using Alpaca for HER!!

Get them back and add a loop and use them as a decoration on a Christmas Swag. Make her a bottle of BBQ sauce. LOL

Corinna - corn! Corinna - we ordered corn from our supplier and usually this time of year it comes from WA. It is from Georgia! Unfortunately, the wooden crate it came in has been tossed so I can`t see where in Georgia it was grown. We don`t get local corn (from Taber, south of here a couple of hours) until late August/Sept.
Can you believe it?

Corinna - corn! corinna - we have a store and get deliveries 3 times a week. We just order "corn" and it comes in - we can get some organic produce - a limited variety - but we didn`t specify that for the corn. I was just amazed that it came from so far away ie. from Georgia to western Canada! Usually we start out with Calif. produce and then Wash. and then the Frazer Delta region of BC not too far from Elann!
Oh, you got chickens - meat or layers? I find them so fascinating - love watching the pecking order in action. My friends husband has a flock and I love watching them. We buy his eggs to sell in the store. Bev, my friend, hatched 3 chicks as an experiment just recently. They all came out feathered differently. Not all her eggs hatched in the incubator.
"Clicker training" is something that there has been workshops for (with horses)in this neck of the woods. It`s kind of like Pavlov`s experiments with the dogs and the bell and food. There is a small hand held "clicker" that is used to help in training. Apparently, the people who started it (somewhere?) used chickens as they are the most easily trained! maybe your kids would be interested in working with the chickens.(I think kids can be clicker trained too! LOL Hmmm, maybe DH`s!! Wouldn`t that be interesting!!) I think I once found a website.
Hope your class is fun! Don`t drop any eggs!!

Fabric Markers question If I were doing it, I would get some sort of resist substance from an art store to outline the image you are going to produce on your flag and then get from an art store, some permanent markers to fill in the colours of the images.
All you want is something to prevent bleeding (the resist substance) and something permanent to colour it.

Fabric Markers question It dries to be a rubbery stuff that you would peel off and I think you use a syringe or squeeze bottle to aply it in a very fine line. I`ve never seen it but an artist friend used it. I`d phone an artist supply store.

Jacket for the outback? Just found this site. This woman has some great garments. Scroll down.......I love the "brick" coloured jacket and think that the outback mohair might be nice in this design.

Beatrice - are you out there? Boy, Beatrice, that must be hard for you and your family. That`s great that Rick Hansen came to visit your BIL. I have a lot of admiration for that man. Years ago, I read his book about the world tour he took - very good- it certainly wasn`t all roses! I`m sure he was an inspiration to your BIL.
Glad you`re having some fun knitting - I`d like to use some of the Fleece Artist yarn sometime. They have such beautiful colours, don`t they. What tones are in the jacket you`re knitting - I think I know the one you mean if it`s one of their patterns?
Hang in there!!
