So what are you working on THIS week?
|
What I am working now? I finished another pair of socks. I think I have enough of socks making for a while. I returned back to my husband`s half done PC uros pullover. In between, I have been studying B. Walker`s "top down". I determine to knit one. I opened the box of beautiful PC alpaca - teal, blue, eggplant, purple, cornflower, navy..... I want to make a muticolor yoke pullover top down. With some calculation and casted on. Seeing MacChick frogged her beautiful pullover (I don`t know why?) and converted it into a beautiful cardigan. Make me wonder whether I can make it through. I need a spiritual help!

Congratulation MacChick - a "Top-down" Designer
|
What you did to your sister`s top down is amazing. I am completely convinced - you have a high quality of being a designer. Congratulation MacChick. I started with alpaca - raglan pullover, couple inches after the throat line, I packed it back to the box (I wanted to learn more and a better feeling of "top down" first). I casted on another one. This sweater is started with the neck band..... the yoke is increased in 8 points.... small among of contrast color is added in between to enhance the "knit in round" . So far It is only several inches long, the major challenge is still to come. Thank you MacChick for your encouragement. I use addi turbo circular.

Benne - what did you do with E and T
|
What is the story about the water tower? A King Kong or what? I am confused. A yarn eating animal - like moth?

That is funny. Water in the mid air. They should be in the ocean or in the lake.

Shui Kuen, your top down looks great!
|
Benne: it was a lace yarn come in a cone, too fine to make a sweater. So I wind it into a hank and put it into the hot water. It shrank and felted a little bit. It became a perfect DK yarn. The yarn was 70% off, I can experiment that. I will not do that to my alpaca. The wool after hot water treatment, it became very soft.

I wash the wool in hot water before knitting it. The yarn felted a little bit. This yarn just feels very soft in my hand after washing. Before washing, it looks like waxed or gelled wool. May be Ann can explain it better than I am.
