Reply to MacChick about top-down MacChick: I saw the approaches difference between you and me. You started the neckline with "crescent". I started the neckline with "reversible boat neckline".
I casted on entire 40%k all at once, and knitted the neckband right the way. After I finished my neckband, I divided my 40%k into 8 sections. I did a 8 points double increases (16 stitches) every 4 round. At the base of yoke, I added the short rows. You are right, if I have "crescent", I will not need the short rows.
The division of the body and sleeves are similar like yours. More less followed EZ`s percentage system. The reason why I said "more less", because all numbers are related to the 8 points. For instance: my 40 % k is 94, I casted on 96, so it can be divided by 8. My underarm is not 8% but 6%..... I also compared my old sweaters....
The reason I continued to knit body first, because I ran out of yarn. Now I had washed and dried more yarn. I am knitting all three parts at the same time (a little bit of sleeves and a little bit of body).
Seeing your construction of your sweater, it was more sophisticated and complicated than mine. Mine, as soon as the neckband fit to my neck, I just continued the increase in a same rate all the way.
I have to congratulate you. You did a beautiful sweater - will fit for a Princess.

Benne:humming birds are here Benne: I saw 2 male and 1 female hummering birds here this morning. It is almost one week late. They are already fighting. Usually, the male arrived couple days early and than female follows. Now they are all here. Our birdies are ruby throat. What is yours.
