ooh, new peeks! Check out the Linen Isle. It was used for the Aleita shell and another IWK pattern--Pink Mimosa or something. Looks perfect for summer!

Over-dyeing anyone? I`ve got a train wreck on my hands. I don`t know a bit about dyeing. The yarn is wool and is already knit into a sweater. Can I dunk it in a solution of something to even out the colors? It`s naturals, orangey-rusts, olives and browns. I knit from alternate skeins but it didn`t help. I`m trying to tone down the orange cast and darken the naturals. I`ve got a couple of swatches to test...any suggestions?

Over-dyeing anyone? Ooh, good tip. I`ll check Dharma too. I`ve read about dyeing with those dyes in a KP catalog but for some reason, I thought it was only used for undyed wool. That`s

Over-dyeing anyone? Great info, Gaile! That`s exactly what I was looking for. My question is how do you know what colors to get. I`m going to look for the SM book and see if she offers any tips and of course, I`ll have to try Ravelry too. I think there`s a dyeing group there too. Thanks again!

Over-dyeing anyone? I would love cool sage. I`d be okay with brown too but it would have to be a deep chocolatey brown or it will make me look like vomit. Have you used to Proscion or Wilton dyes?

Over-dyeing anyone? No it`s fugly magallanes. I`ll post my sweater tomorrow on my projects page. It`s not for the weak at heart.

Over-dyeing anyone? Wow, Jayne! Thanks so much. Now I have a plan. I`ve got a few swatches and I`m going to try the black and the burgundy (once I figure out what Bets is suggesting.) I`m partial to the Wilton`s because it doesn`t require any special use pots--I can just use my canning bath. I`m not sure that`s the case with the Proscions.

I spent over an hour researching dyeing without really figuring out how to go about it. Thanks so much for your step by step instructions! Soooo helpful!

KELLY Don`t doooo it! Haha! I`d go any color to make this eyesore less offensive. Do I use Wilton or Rit? How does one get burgundy?

KELLY Don`t doooo it! Thanks, Libby. I love the sweater pattern and the yarn. I just hate the mismatched colors. The body has a lot of natural color yarn and the sleeves are almost completely orange--hardly any natural. It`s also a bit busy.

KELLY Don`t doooo it! LOL--Yes, I think you`re nuts! Making the picture smaller seemed to have softened the contrast a bit. Really, in person, it is nauseating :P

KELLY Don`t doooo it! Hi Daryl! It`s Magallanes from a year or so ago. I think I`m swearing off variegated unless it`s more monochromatic.

Over-dyeing anyone? Oooh, that`s good to know. I grabbed a bunch of colors because I left the house without my notes. I wasn`t sure whether to get red red or burgundy so I got both. I got the black and royal blue and an olive green. I don`t recall seeing a juniper. They were out of teal so I`ll try the black first and go from there. Thanks so much again, Jayne!
