Aurora mohair -- suggestions please
|
Thank you! I agree, softness does vary from brand to brand. I think the Aurora is tolerable as a second layer. I`ll give the conditioner a try after a good soak in Eucalan. I guess you`d use the same amount of conditioner as you would on your own hair? It`s worth a shot. I`m going to give the circle wrap in conjunction with a nice thick turtleneck :)
Thanks again for your help!

I just saw it on your ravelry page--it`s absolutely gorgeous on you! The colors, the fit, the disks--perfect combination. Yay, Billie!

I agree with SK. Be the Queen. Feel the Queen. Embrace the Queen. You can be an elf next year. Whatever you do, DO NOT CLEAN the house. I do this all of the time. It gets easier with practice :)

Here, here for Undie Claus. Why is that some men won`t buy their own? I guess they don`t worry about binding, bunching and VPL.

That`s a lot of stuff for one person to have to deal with. I don`t blame you for wanting to skip Christmas all together--it`s so out of control these days. Do what you can do and forget the rest. Enjoy the couch--that`s where I`m heading right now :)

I agree with Grace--really, really gorgeous! Anything with cables or lace really requires my full attention. How do you knit such beautiful, complicated scarves so quickly? You must chart them first (pleasepleasesayyoudo.)

Domo arigato! It`s a great relief to be done, I tell ya. I think I`ll be joining Jayne and Benne on the couch.
Hope SIL likes it. She`s very Ann Taylor/WhiteHouse-BlackMarket.

Oh no, I meant, you sit down and make a plan (or a chart) before you actually start knitting. My version of knitting a scarf is K1,P1.... or, I like this one even better--knit all rows until I run out of yarn.
I`m glad you`re keeping this one for yourself!

An unpleasant surprise...

The nerve of some people--to rip a pattern out of a book. Shame on them. Re the gaiter: If it is the gaiter on page 37, the co is 176. The gaiter is knit in blue sky alpacas alpaca and silk; 146 yds/100g) Calls for US6 needles.

Hi Laura,
It`s the reversible wrap that Elann featured when the Aurora mohair was being offered. It`s basically the same free pattern as shown with the Mr. Joe Montepulciano--it`s in the free pattern section.

Hmm, I did the usual bind off. I didn`t notice anything wonky. Maybe you were binding off too tight?

I checked--the pattern is the same except the aurora version has fewer increase rounds than the mr. joe version.

I had to read the pattern through several times to figure it out. Finally, I just cast on and figured that I would just do what it said to do and hope for the best.
Do you remember the Kelly Girl ads? Definitely pre-feminist but through a child`s eyes, pretty glamorous. I should probably be Kellywomyn but it just doesn`t have that ring to it :)
