spending my morning
|
I started a "wisp" last night in some crystal palace kid merino that I`ve had stashed for a couple of years. It really is an easy to memorize pattern--I`m re-thinking my moebius plan and may make a few of these instead maybe in baby silk or baby cash too (stashbusting.)
BTW, I saw you at Costco yesterday, Grace. They have that Taste of Home compendium for $6.99. I think that`s so neat. My mom and grandmom were long time subscribers.
Happy Sunday, everyone.

Just look at those colors of elann`s new Alpaca Fina!!!

Beautiful collection, I agree. I was admiring all of the colors last night. I don`t know how I`m going to choose.

Kellygirl-pointy chins-

Thanks! You brought up an interesting point. I thought the v-neck was good for the round chins. I guess it`s the cable detail--is this why shawl collars also aren`t very flattering on some of us?

kellygirl! love that vest!
|
Thanks for the compliments, everyone! This was one of those instant gratification knits--super quick and easy. I think finding and attaching the buttons took longer than the actual knitting. I knit the garter section in the medium and the lace section in the small and it has just the right amount of "swinginess" on the bottom.

I love it! It looks fabulous on you (but you are like Margaux in that way--everything looks good on you!) Off to check your blog for details.

Favorite Noro patterns

Ditto Lisa. I`ve made a bag, fingerless mitts, a corkscrew scarf, and a hat. I still have some Silver Thaw from when I thought I would make a second Lady E. I`m thinking of using it to make Cosmicpluto`s top down cardi. She has a free pattern posted on her sidebar which she knit in Silk Garden, I think.

The peeks

I`ve wondered about this yarn. I`ve been pretty good at resisting the bag sales (because they take up so much yarn space) but I might succumb on this cotton blend. It`s a good thing amber is not my color! Hear ya loud and clear, Ms. Weston!

Melanie, your shrug is nice!

Looks great! Congrats on your first original design. Everyone should go check out her blog--you can click on the picture and it gets bigger (hello, Billie!.) I really like that lace ribbing. Very unique. I wish I could see it on a body (hint.hint.)

what would you recommend to a new elann customer
|
I have to jump on the highland wool, hw chunky, sierra aran and pamir bandwagon. I think they are all terrific yarns. I`m knitting a vest out of the Pamir and it is an absolute pleasure to knit.

Felting Bags
|
Evelyn, I`m curious, what size needles do you use with the chunky doubled? I use 13 or 15`s with the worsted doubled--do you use 17?

The Felting Tips You ASked For
|
Wow! Like everyone else said, no wonder your bags are so spectacular! I used plastic canvas in one bag that I made and ended up taking it out because stuff was getting caught on the edges. I guess I should have lined it after--talk about a "duh" moment. Thanks again for your hints! I`m busy accumulating wool scraps to make another. kelly
