Scraps of Outback wool? Sorry, forgot to tell you the little mittens are 1 3/4" tall, not 1", but they`re still cute. I haven`t knit on #2`s for many years. It was strange at first, but gave a tight neat st and it was a short project. Jamie

Knitting books at bargain prices Hi, Don`t forget the book deal that Elann has. The books are not discounted but almost all have a voucher (vouchers) for later purchases, to it`s like getting a discount. Give a look/see to the books section. Jamie

Changing from English to Continental Hi Cate, If I remember correctly, my left hand had a hard time doing an entire row (even 20 sts) in cont. st. I often use the technique with 2 color rows and it seems to work well, it`s much faster and my sts are even enough. Just work with it a while and then try with a fair isle swatch. Perserverence! I`d love to break away from English style but don`t seem to be able to, except for 2 color rows (and I have never mastered cont. in purling). Jamie

HW Color Cards - more details hi Jean, I`m interested but have been and will be real busy thru 12/8 with fiber fair and tutoring job.
I just ordered last week HW in Grand Canyon, Rose, Dedar, Celery, Summer Sky, Electric Blue, serengeti Sand, Autumn Peach, Coffee Bean Brown and Mid Indigo (mostly 1 skein only) just to see and try making some small goodies, or large multi-multi color project. Anyway I`ll email you later about details. Jamie

I want a Cuzco blankie! Hi Benne, Yea, I want one too. Who would like to make it for me? I`ll buy the yarn!! Alpaca is so wonderfully warm but I really can`t work with it for more than 5 minutes. But I think I could enjoy it at the foot of the bed. These allergies are not fun! I can knit mohair but can`t wear it! Your ponchos sound like cozy great gifts. Happy holidays, Jamie

I got my first HW color sheet Thanks, Peggy, for being the first one to really get out colors out. Mine are in the mail, except for two. It was more fun to assemble them than to write a Christmas letter for friends and family. It will be exciting to have ALL the colors! Happy knitting, all, from Jamie who has to finish to project orders (baby things) this evening!

I want a Cuzco blankie! Oh Benne, you absolutely amaze me! I have thought about whether I could have it on my bed. I`ll try putting an alpaca cape, given to me as a retirement gifts a few years ago, on the bed for a night or two and see how it affects me. ALpaca is so warm and I sleep so cold! I`ll be in touch with you. Thanks, Jamie

I want a Cuzco blankie! Hi Michelle, Thanks for the maldenmillsstore site. Yes, polar fleece is great stuff. Sometimes I wonder why I knit so much when products like this are available. I don`t freeze, but I sure have a lot of layers on the bed. I`ve thought about a down comforter too. BTW, Benne and Michelle, after one night I haven`t have problems with the alpaca cape. It`s over the last three feet of the bed! Thanks, I will e-mail you. Jamie

Ghislaine.. very pretty shawl! Beautiful lace, a lovely scarf. Do you get to keep it or is it a gift? Jamie

So this was pretty cool... Hi Michelle, A well deserved surprise. Do you know that most magazines buy the patterns that they print?
I have a friend who designs knit wear and knits on commissions. Looks like you`re on your way to another career. Happy knitting, Jamie

HW swatches are coming in right and left! Hi Bri, Yes, I hope to make a master card using card stock. I thought I copied the bunch of colors when they first appeared but it looks like I only have the bag full colors copied. I`ll let you know when I get it done. You sure get a lot of beautiful knitting done, even for your dog!! Jamie

Christmas Stress-Now was it me that said never again? Hi Benne, I was thinking of you this AM and was going to write to tell you to stop putting so much stress in your life trying to finish Xmas gifts. I was 21 when I started giving gifts for 12th night -- like the three kings... In this country we do so many, many activities in the fall and then think that Christmas season ends on Dec. 25th. As usual this year what few gifts I have for DGC are not yet in the mail. My poor DDs are used to my slow ways, but we just don`t try to do everything, we spread it out over the year. I decorate my tree (a wee small one again this year) on Dec. 20-24 and take in down in late January. It makes the cold month of January brighter! I listen to Christmas music after Dec. 25 and thoroughly enjoy it! Happy holidays to all! Don`t stress too much now, enjoy everyday with holiday spirit throughout the year! Jamie
PS The fact that I participated in a fiber arts sale in early December has really put me behind in all my end of the year chores! Next year I really must get prepared for the sale earlier!!! HA HA HA

Alice: Elann`s gift certificate from HW color card members Hi SHui Kuen, What a wonderfully kind and generous gift and to such a worthy cause. When I visited Alice in late August I saw many of the completed sweaters made for the Dorcas project, also the baskets of yarn and the well organized packets of pattern and yarn to go out to knitters. Alice is an organizer and motivator par excellance. Greetings to all for a Happy Holiday Season! from Jamie
