Hi Joyce, Welcome! Felted materials, whether fabric that is called felt, or knitted work that is felted by washing in a machine, is never a smooth finish (at least not in my experience), but that doesn`t mean that it won`t be great for pillows. A tightly knit surface would be smmother than a felted surface. Just my opinion. Happy knitting, Jamie

Button band/collar and buttonhole band
|
Hi Carrie, I have knit many cardigans with a knit as you go buttonhold band. Most panels have been knit in garter st (k each row) or seed st; you must plan for the buttonholes as you go, which is a bit trickier than knitting the panel later and attaching to fronts of sweater. The garter st panels tend pull in shorter than the sweater front but I find they work out after blocking. I`m not sure about other question. When I was bustier I didn`t have problems with sweater riding up, especially a cardi. Jamie

Would you all hurry up and buy all the HW!!!
|
Benne, Benne, Please leave some of the HW for those of us who haven`t yet ordered any. I am showing real restraint but what happened is that I just have so, very very very much yarn that I`m abstaining for a while (???trying to keep my addiction under control???). The HW colors are so very appealing; it hasn`t been easy to keep away. Happy knitting, Jamie who is preparing for a second sale in a couple of weeks, after a successful 3 hour craft fair on Sunday

I suggest an elann yarn swap meet
|
Hi, Benne the enabler! You have a great idea! I could not resist this yarn, altho so far I haven`t got the HW. This one ply yarn is very similar to Manos de Uruguay yarn and it`s also a weight I like to hats. A swap would be great! Happy knitting, Jamie

Marion!

Marion, You have been busy! It must have been fun putting that many colors into your work. The result is fantastic. Vest or Cardi? If it`s for you, I`d make which ever you think you will wear more. The cardi would be gorgeous, and the vest is fantastic! Bravo, over and over again! Jamie

Dorcas Mailing
|
Bravo, Alice! You are a great manager to get kits set up and distributed to so many knitters, then to organize to intake and get it all sent off. I can picture your house full of piles of all these items. How lucky the Dorcas group is to have you in charge. It`s great to have a couple of notes from you here. Happy knitting, Jamie
