Happy Veteran`s Day
|
November 11 used to celebrated in the United States as Armistice Day but was changed to Veterans Day in order to honor veterans from all wars. November 11, 1918 marked the end of WWI, and as Benne has mentioned, was the "war to end all wars". It was an awful war, but of course, all wars have been awful. Today is a day to honor all our troops, past and present, from all countries who fight for freedom in the world! Jamie

I am frogging!!!
|
Bummer, Cheryl! Variegated yarns are always taking a chance. I bought from Lanaloft, a lovely handpainted yarn from Brown Sheep and wanted to make a pair of mittens and hats. Had to restart the mittens and knit 28 sts round instead of 32 because of how the colors were falling. The final pair turned out okay, but now I`m concerned about the hat! But it`s an extra bummer when you spun the yarn yourself! Hope the vest/sweater works. Jamie

I get to visit with Daryl again!
|
Great going, Jean. That`s wonderful way to start weaving. Don`t know the size of the loom but I`m sure it will be wonderful for you. I`m tutoring a student in Spanish; her grandmother is Mexican and lives in Laredo, TX. Is that your destination. Gee, I might just wander south someday to see you. Jamie

Hi Jean, The loom sounds perfect. It`s just what I have, except that mine is a Schacht product which I bought in 1985 or so. I`ve never been tempted by more harnesses, but could use more width sometimes. I have relatives in Forth Worth area, and other Texas locations, so who knows, someday I may wander to the Lone Star state again. Jamie

Adorable hat, Bri

I noticed it too but didn`t comment an hour or so ago. It`s my favorite Donegal color. What a very cute hat. What size is it? You are getting some great knitting finished these days! Have a good end of semester! Jamie

Terrific Joy hat, Les!

I have only 2 skeins of 2 different colors and was thinking of mittens, but your hat looks great! The color changes are not as long as I was fearing. Your knits are always beautiful and useful, Les! Jamie

My thoughts and prayers for you and DD, Benne. I tried to post a note last night but the system didn`t work. Today, I just haven`t been on the computer. Hope all will be back to normal soon. A big hug from Jamie

Hey Jean, Sounds like a nice visit in Philly. But did you bring home the loom? Let us know how the weaving goes. Great sweaters! Jamie

The Peeks!!!
|
Wow! I am just so sorry to see all these colors being discontinued. We all understand the storage problems since we have them in our homes, as does Elann in their warehouse. I made Shui Kuen`s Coin and Cable lace wrap with a color currently unavailable. And I really, really liked it although I can`t wear alpaca. I must have some and hope to get a couple of colors I do like a lot. Jamie

I have no restraint

My computer gave me problems for more than 30 minutes so I didn`t get the top color on my list, Gooseberry, but I settled for #2 and finally got the Oregano. I, too, have no restraint! Jamie
