About Working with Luna Yarn
|
I found it made a big difference which end of the ball I knit from. For, me, pulling from the center retained the twist of the plies nicely.

Happy belated greetings to CatBookMom!

I hope your birthday was fabulous, Barbara. Jill has promised me that those new Just One More Row desigins are coming straight to elann, as soon as they`re ready.

All together now...........Happy Birthday, Dear Alice, Happy.............
|
Alice, Alice, Alice, Happy, Happy, Birthday!
Thinking about your name just now, a rockin` good theme song for our group came to me - Jefferson Airplane`s "White Rabbit"! In our best Grace Slick voices, we all sing: "Go ask Alice - I think she`ll know!"
`cause she will, and we thank you for it, and for being you, Alice.

PEEKS are up....

It`s very soft, Daryl. I find that sometimes wool boucles can be scratchy, but this one definitely isn`t.

Absolutely Bowled Over by Your Talent!

The suspense over the design competition has been killing me, just as it has been killing some of you. I asked Sukeina to keep all submissions until today, and then give them all to me at once, after she had made them all anonymous, and I just can`t believe what we have here. I`m dying to show you, but you`ll all have to hang on just a little longer now - I`ll share all on March 31st!
Based on the huge success of the last challenge, I`m hoping you`re up for another one: http://secure.elann.com/designcontest.asp Check it out, and let me know what you think!
Humbled by the genius of the last submissions, Ann

For now, I`d prefer to keep all confidential. I can tell you for sure, however, that there will definitely be several winners in the first round.
Re pics of entries, my number one concern is that I must protect privacy. Once the winners are announced, all those who participated will be free to share here according to their personal wishes.

Thanks for your enthusiastic input, Bets. I`ve tweeked the description and rules of the challenge a bit to address your questions, and I`ve made the page live at designcontest.asp.
To make yarn choices 100% clearcut for entrants, we do have to stick to the current list of elann offerings, so I`m sorry, but Sonata can`t be included in this particular challenge.
I have, however, included your ideas about tams and open circles, and I`ve clarified that the design must be based on a full circle, not a half circle, etc. I haven`t mentioned multiple circles, but suffice it to say that I don`t see a rule that stops you on that count:-)

Yes, for me, the twist was best coming from the center of the ball.

Okay, what is going on?
|
Sorry, Christine - you`re just too quick for me! I made the new patterns orderable, only to discover that the graphics had not been done for them yet, so I had to take them down again. They`ll be up by Wednesday - I promise! You can preview them at Maddy`s site www.maddycraft.com. Garden Paths was knit in Highland Wool; Undercover Baby in Sonata; Sleep Softly, Baby in Lara; Goes Great with Jeans uses white Pakucho; and Short and Tweed Linie 21 Marly (previously offered here).
