Design Question It`s correct as is, Libby. To make a true 1/2 circle, you need more increases every 4th row if you`re knitting in a non-square stitch. Take a look at the photo of the Flower Petal shawl, which has 8 increases every 4th row in stockinette. It would need a 5th panel, the same size as the original 4 to make it a 1/2 circle.

rain dance shawl You`re welcome, Zola - and don`t worry - I checked my other numbers again too, while I was at it, so you should be fine now as you knit on!

rain dance shawl Hi Mary,
Thanks for the clarification of your problem. Each chart shows one panel (i.e. one of four panels in each row, which are separated by your 3 increase markers). At the beginning of the first chart, you have 10 stitches in each panel, and by the end of it, you`ll have 20, because on wrong side rows 21, 25, 29, 33, and 37, you`ll be increasing two stitches in each panel (which will be a total 8 sts on every increase row). Throughout the shawl on every 4th wrong side row, you`ll do this by following the instructions given for all increase rows – see row 13.

Rain Dance Shawl Sounds good, Mary. Just keep in mind that the charts always refer to the stiches in the very center of each panel (denoted by color B markers to show you the constant number of stitches at the center of each panel). The increases take place on outside of these center stitches, on either side of the color A markers.
