flower basket shawl Hi,

Just need some opinion.

Im currently doing the Flower Basket Shawl (FBS). I`m using the Peruvian Collection Silk. Just wondering, whether I should double the yarn to knit or just a single ply will do. What size needle should I use (mm)?

If I using single ply its mean that I have to repeats additional of the Lower Flower basket?

Thanks for the info.

So size sixes needles should be 4mm rite? By the way, 14balls of yarn should be enough?

Doreen - Beautiful Flower Basket Shawl! Thank you, thank you for all your compliments. This is the first time I posted a photo at this chat site. Couldn`t believe myself that I got so many compliments.

For the questions on the needle size, it is knitted with size 4.5mm circular needle. I used about 3.5 balls of peruvian baby silk. Towards the end, more yarn needed as I add on 3 more repeats compared to the original pattern of 7 repeats.

You all should try it as this baby silk is really very soft. Oh yes, this is for myself as this is my first shawl.

Doreen - Another Flower Basket question Hi Lizzie & Barbara,

Sorry for the late reply.

4 balls should be enough for 10 repeats (extra 3 repeats frm the original of 7 repeats). I used abt 3.5 balls, so 4 balls should be more than enough.

Thats a beautiful scarf.

Can I just know what size needle (mm) did you use and how many skeins of baby silk. Oh yes, and also whats the width after blocking?
