I`m sending the response to Carinthia`s email. I`ll get her hooked on the Elann chat room yet. There is a certain similarity in the gleeful expressions as well as the skinny bodies and long hair. Thanks for posting the picture. Daryl

Oh Barbara!

Incredible. It isn`t just the sunshine which lifts our moods, but the beautiful colors. Isn`t that part of the reason we crave fiber, the gorgeous colors and textures. Therefore it is knitting content, inspiration to imitate nature. Daryl

Sneak peeks!!!! This is good stuff!
|
The excuse is, now is the time to get it so it will be done when it is cool enough to wear instead of knitting a sweater all through the season for which it is intended only to seam it up as the weather abruptly changes. Daryl

My FB Shawl has croaked one too many times!
|
I agree, the trick is that you GOT IT!!! This time when you reknit from the life line you will be AMAZED at how it flys. I reknit the orlando poncho a zillion times and only once I went to block it could I tell how clearly the pattern changed once I truly got it. I had to frog one entire panel and re do it, but it was worth it, and that was a simple stitch. Daryl

Still debating on the Austermann Peru
|
My Peru came yesterday, oooo. It is luscious. Who I think I am kidding that I will ever get around to completing a complicated cable pattern in DK wool, I don`t know, but as someone said, some people collect rocks and used stamps... I think I want the green too..Daryl

I love the vision. Knitty even has a pattern for the red fishnet stockings, Maybe a pair of Ruby highland wool felted clogs, with extra thick wedge heels to complete the ensemble? Daryl

Yum, yum, yum. I love the idea of making it out of Peru. Then I could justify more of the yummy stuff, without buying enough for a whole other sweater. Hmm, one of each color perhaps? Says one who has not even cast ON a FB shawl yet, despite the drool rapidly accumlating and the intimate knowledge of the distrated manner in which knitting is accomplished (or frogging set up) in her house. Charlotte is looking good there, Wilbur!
|
It`s looking beautiful. I can feel my resolve crumbling, slowly cascading down. My credit card is doing a happy dance out of the purse, "I`m going to get to play, play, play". "Down!" I say, "Away!" I say. "Please" it says. "Later" I say. Yes, I`m stooping to desperate measures, having inane and useless battles with a piece of plastic in order to avoid that Complete Sale button until I knit an equivalent of what I have already purchased this month...Daryl

Jean, your sweater!!
|
Truly a completely beautiful picture. Suitable for only the best Knitting magazines. Hard to tell whether the glowing happiness is joy and pride in completion of the sweater, the site, having your family together for two weeks, or a combination of all of the above. Daryl

Congratulations on finishing classes. I hope the next ten days are filled with luxuriant dilly dallying and feeling cherishe, accomplished and special. May this safe interlude between life phases be a true vacation in doing whatever YOU find interesting, even if it happens to be educational. Daryl

HappyBirthday Tim! A greeting for Theresa`s young man

Happy Birthday TIM!. Sorry we are late, must have been a good year for knitter`s offspring as my eldest is turning 13 today. I hope you enjoyed your day as much as Caroline plans on enjoying hers. Daryl

WHAT is on the needles?

FINALLY finished my Black alpaca Cozy. I love, it, thank you all for enabling the black alpaca, will post soon, but all the sunshine has made black alpaca less appealing these days. Working on my second sock in Alice`s pattern and loving it for purse knitting, started a lavendar cardigan in Dive Cotton, don`t love knitting cotton, but love the product, and of course, my outback mohair cardigan for mindless knitting. Can`t wait to be able to snuggle into it next year. It`ll probably get finished in the midst of a muggy summer.Daryl

Skacel Riviera
|
Oh my I`ve been yearning for it, I want at least enough for a major project in 4 or 5 colors. I`m thinking summer cardigans, shawls, the Clapoti, something shiny to throw over summer shoulders in the cool office or a movie or restauraunt (as if we ever go the latter two). I`d even been so good for a few weeks. Daryl
