Libby, Fabulous Highland Wool Projects! Hey everyone, take a look at the latest projects on the Project Gallery!

Libby, I just love all your HW projects! The photos showing the sweaters "in action" are great too, so natural and can tell that these sweaters are well-used and loved

Thank you to Elann and their technical team for making the bigger photos possible, it is totally worth it!

Who bought Sonata? Seeing as I still have three bags of the Sonata print (Rio - reds, Curacao - turquouse & Renaissance - plums and purples) and one bag (Aegean Sea) of Sonata solid, all untouched from last summer's bag sales, I resisted! Though I did check the reds and purples to see if there were any left that would coordinate with my Rio and Renaissance, thankfully not by the time I looked.

I am thinking I will get to them this summer with some crochet patterns. I really like the ones in the upcoming summer Interweave Crochet. How about you, Pat, what are you going to do with your five colors, and what colors did you get :-)?

Stumbled upon some great free patterns Yes, Les, I see the link to that site every so often on Ravelry when I see a possible Debbie Bliss or Erika Knight pattern, think this is going to necessitate a purchase, and then find out it's also available on this site for free. Now I'm going to follow your link and just do some browsing Thanks.

Who bought Sonata? Those colors are so pretty, I know them from the Highland Wool yarn that I am more familiar with! I concluded after trying to knit with Sonata recently that I can't get even stockinette (my fault, I think it is age-related). So it'll either be knit lace that can be done at a looser gauge or crochet. I like the Elann Peacock Plumes cardigan pattern, there are a few projects done in Sonata that you can see on Ravelry that look very nice.

I'm new to this community. I made my first purchase last week, and guess what? It was sonata in butterscotch. It was originally slated for a cardigan in Knit N Style but there are a couple projects in Interweave crochet that are tempting my hooks.

Welcome! I've heard that Sonata is excellent for crochet

Verena magazine Darla wrote:
Greetings all,
I read but almost never post, but today I have a question. I subscribe to Verena magazine and just got an email requesting and extra $2.50 to cover increased mailing costs. I wondered if it was a scam of sorts because I've never heard of a subsciption cost going up after the subscription has started. Does anyone else receive Verena? If so did you get this email requesting more money?

That does sound odd! I would call the toll-free number in my magazine to verify that the email was from Verena. And if it were indeed legitimate it doesn't seem right that they would request extra after you've paid for your subscription.

Highland Wool Contest ends soon! bri wrote:
I didn't see my entry. Oh well. It's such a fun contest.

Bri, are you entering your Mondo Cable cardigan in the Boysenberry HW? I think you have to go in and edit the project and make sure you click on the box that says you want it entered in the contest. I hope you do that, since I want to vote for it!

We hope that everyone enjoyed seeing the entries and voting in the contest - keep your eyes peeled for our next contest featuring a long-time elann.com summertime favourite!

Angela, is the next contest with Sonata? I found the description of the Sonata contest on the project gallery page. If it is Sonata, are projects with the Sonata Print (now discontinued) also eligible?

Shui Kuen Kozinski Designs Contest! I didn't get mine finished as well, but liked having the incentive to get started on one that was in my queue

Today I looked at the project entries for voting...they are all so beautiful and inspiring, congratulations to all the entrants on the lovely knitting!
