Opinion on IWK Bella?
|
I think the lace bottom really adds to it. I`d do all one color, keep the lace bottom but make the top have more fitted waist shaping rather than a swing.

Billie--answer about Knitter`s lace sweater
|
I really like the sweater too. And while I haven`t started it, I did read the pattern closely. I was pretty surprised by the finished dimentions for the various sizes. They seemed awfully large for a delicate lace sweater. The ease seemed more in keeping with a parka with lots on underneath.
One may want to keep that in mind when selecting sizes.

Question concerning Sea Silk-
|
I knit the Knitted Wings pattern from Lettuce Knit with the skein of Sea Silk I had. I liked it so much that within 10 minutes of finishing I`d ordered another skein in a different colorway. It is very slippery, don`t drop a stitch! It blocked nicely with lots of drape. Upon wearing it fuzzed a bit, and draped a bit more, but not in a bad way. I too had the funny white bits mentioned in the Knitters review article.
My plan for the new skein was to do the variation of a frill pattern from Knitty. Though the link you posted with the heartstrings pattern has me thinking about sideways knits. Sideways would stretch the color repeats to avoid any pooling. The top-down triangle of Knitted Wings had no pooling due to constant needle size changes
