Toe-up
|
Use the toe up magic cast on at Knitty.com - I think they also have a pattern. I`ve done 3 pair of socks and really like the cast on. No seams, just like magic. After I cast on, I just knit to fit, with no pattern - add stitches until its wide enough for the foot, knit till you need to turn the heel ( I like short rows better then gussets) then up the leg till I can`t stand knitting any longer.

Oh, very nice. Did the nubs give you headaches? I finally had time to knit this weekend, finished the first 12 rows of the nub part. I didn`t find them so bad.

Wow...Spruce went first in the Cotolino!
|
I logged in to order spruce, only to find it gone. Wonder if it will show up on ebay?

Thanks I`m trying to stick to my goal of no new yarn till I`ve finished 5 projects out of the stash. If favorite colors go, that is an easier vow to keep.

Update

Do you know what a neti pot is? http://www.jalanetipot.com/ After years of problems and having several doctors and friends recommend it, I finally gave it a try. It will wipe out that drainage better than any commercial decongestant with no side effects.

Hey, Ribby Girls...How`s It Going??
|
I`m not doing the sweater, but I`ve read about the difference in pick-up or knit-at-same-time edges. Garter and seed stitch have different row guages than stockinette or other types of pattern stitches. In extreme cases, the difference can cause the knitted-at-the-same-time-edges to pucker and curl or pull up from the bottom. This can be corrected using short rows, or as more commonly done, pick up and knit later.

OT-Fittest and fattest...food for thought.
|
Yes there are show people, but their numbers pale in comparison to the multitudes that move there for retirement or other reasons and all the cheap food.
ABQ as a fit city makes no sense to me. That is opposite from my observations when I visit there. And growing up there it wasn`t really all that fit.

one more thought, I think the difference in San Fran and San Jose is income level. Richer being thinner. Which is another reason ABQ doesn`t belong on the fit list.

Has anyone knit with bamboo?
|
I knitted 2 scarves/belts with it. Don`t remember the brand. I really liked knitting with it and saw it being worn many months after giving and it looked good. It did not bleed/fade when I washed it as part of the blocking process.
