What`s on the needles?
|
Sorry to say no change from the last post. Slowly but surely making headway on cable vest for dad and doing a top down raglan for Miss M in Wendy - pink fuzz just what a little girl needs.
there are a couple other items on the needles, but they aren`t being worked on so they don`t warrent mention.

Amy Wow, that pattern is just what I had in my head for some KSH I scored on Ebay. Now I`ll be searching for the pattern. THanks for the post.

I knit very loosely so I usually go down 1 or 2 needle sizes to get gauge. To be honest, not sure if that causes me to need more yarn as I`m an XL size and always buy more yarn to make it bigger. I`m currently knitting a vest for my dad and have gone down a needle size to get guage and so far looks like I`m spot on for yarn usuage.

Jayne - I realize you are QOH, but re: the slippers
|
I`m inspired, I`ve got some SWS to try. I didn`t have much luck with sizing on the Fiber Trends pattern, so I`m going to try the knit one felt too pattern.

Can you let go when you should?
|
Of yarn that is. I have some great stuff, and I`ve come to realize it`s never going to be made into anything at my house. But I`m having a hard time letting go. Can`t bring myself to post it on the swap page or eBay.
Can you let go?

My slipper experiment with Soy Wool Stripes
|
did you use the white buffalo pattern 105 sold here? I`ve a bunch that needs to become slippers. I was going to use the fiber trends pattern, but I`m having a hard time getting interested after my sizing disaster.

Hands need to move
|
I knit all the time during teleconferences. Couldn`t stand it without it. I make sure and use a headset so my hands are free and shoulder relaxed. I find I actually listen better since I`m not reading email or working on some other project during the call. My favorite projects are socks and cotton washclothes. While my collegues whine and complain about all the mandatory calls, I look forward to the knitting time. Some weeks, its all I get.

Do you like the handpaint? I`ve been eying some. The laceweight doesn`t take up much room does it? I bought a skein of laceweight this weekend and 800 m was the size of a skein of Highland wool.

Hands need to move
|
I heard a report once that people speak about 250 words per minute, the ears can hear up to 400 words per minute and the brain can process up to 700 wpm. That is why people daydream, the brain is processing too fast and is bored.
Vision impaired people who are auditory learners can use a special tape player that speeds up without distorting the sound. They train themselves to hear the words at very high rates. The first time I heard one I couldn`t believe it.
