What will you walk away from at the yarn bin?
|
I run from loop boucles as fast as I can. Yarns that feel plasticy and yarns that are too soft don`t feel right to me. I leave the heavy Lopi in the bin - I live in South Texas after all.

So, is everybody hungover this morning from last night`s party?
|
yarn scraps everywhere, spilled wine, food crumbs, stray knitting needles ... looks like it was quite a party.
What a good idea Billie, I`ve enjoyed reading the posts.

Good morning-What`s on the needles this week??
|
Should have good knitting time this week. I`m plugging away at dads vest II. I`m really liking it this time. Also working on a pink fuzzy sweater for Miss M. Using the Wendy sold here a while back. Great little girl yarn. Top down raglan, I thought I was finished with a sleeve, tried it on only to discover it is 4 in shy. I think the girl grew since I cast on last month.
I have a Swallowtail on the needles in the sparkly Kid Silk Haze, but I`m not really working on it.

The perils of a new vacuum cleaner and your knitting

Made me wince - glad it came out ok. I just finished a K1C2 Sublime mohair feather and fan shawl. Yours wouldn`t happen to be blackberry cobbler? Mine is going to my sister in ABQ as soon as its blocked and photographed.

Speaking of Hallowe`en Costumes...
|
Trick or Drinking - good memories there.
Miss M will be a TRex in a store bought costume with a pink lei necklace so everyone knows the TRex is a girl. Her idea not mine.

What`s with the urge to go slumming (yarn-wise)?
|
No help here, I`m a total yarn snob. The closest I`ve come to yarn slumming is the SWS and that isn`t in the slums......

Kydd Mohair

I have one of those early ones, patent pending stamped on the butt. She had black hair back then. No idea if it is worth anything.

I like your description, Barbara. Once you get used to it, you can`t get enough. A really good pattern to practice with can be found in a recent Knitters. I think it was called Victorian Ruby. Ignore the directions to do the hard lace first. Instead, do a provisional cast on and knit elongated garter stitch for an entire ball. Gives one lots of time to practice before doing the fancy ends.

Stitches-East Fantastic!

Gush away, how very cool to model for the man himself. Not bought any yarn, you have a will of steel.

Tell me about ladder yarn
|
I confess, I`m a big fan of ladder yarn. I wear scarves often and a the ones with the most compliments are the ladder ones. Ladder yarn fringe makes you curse a lot but is very much worth the effort I`ve never tried a top in ladder may have to do so.

Got my new IK - an idea for Highland Silk and Kydd
|
I really like most of the items, especially the Kate G cardigans. I suspect the shawl would be great in person. When I saw the issue on the web a couple weeks ago, I broke down and got a subscription. Wonder when I`ll see the mag.

Hey Jayne, cute slippers!

Great slippers, I`m sure you were shocked. However, it gave me a great idea for my daughter. I`m off to Michaels for some SWS :)
