Has anyone tried washing Sonata? I`ve washed it in the machine - works great. toss in dryer until hot and steamy and lay flat to finish drying.

I can`t believe Bets isn`t raving about Wed I had a more sober use in mind, chemo cap for a friend. These colors may not be loud enough for Miss M socks. I`ll have to ask her if she likes any of the colors.

Euroflax linen vs Elann Esprit One thing you might want to think about. The linen would be very drapey, where the Esprit, with the elastic, would be clingier. Although the same guage, they would look very different.
Just ordered my Big Girl Book. I`m looking forward to it.

Question for you sock knitters - Miss M loves the pair of socks I knit her (the only thing I`ve made her she will wear without coercion).
For my birthday she picked out 4 (!) skeins of sock yarn (the kind that takes 1 skein per pair) and wants them all "mixed together" 3 are 45% cotton and the rest wool and nylon. The forth has no cotton.

What pitfalls, if any, should I be aware of mixing the differnt types? They are all the same guage.

Skullyknits! It`s your birthday! Thank you all for the well wishes!!!
Les, how did you know Lemon Poppy Seed was a favorite of mine?
Haven`t had much time for posting lately, but I do sneak a peak and enjoy the pictures and chatter.

OT -- The genius is at home You should start a blog - you seem like a natural :)
I`ve heard, but Bets could say more about how easy it is.

Benne, are you still psyched about the Faith Jacket? I`ve ordered the book and can hardly wait to see it up close and personal.

TGIK- what`s on the needles this weekend? I`m casting on the vest-for-dad part 2 and socks for Miss M.
VFD2 is the second try at a cabled vest. I made one last year and it ended up in the scrap heap. But I learned a lot and it was fun. So I`m looking forward to the second try.

My New Website Nice site. I really like the purse with the tassles - what a good idea.
It loaded rather slow, even though I have high speed DSL. You may want to try to reduce the file size or maybe freeze the (nifty) falling petals on the left to speed loading. I think the site may be hard to surf for someone on dial-up. I like the flowers and butterfly on the top.
Best wishes for future sales

Thanks and more on socks Thanks so much for all your suggestions.

Miss M is not only 4, she inherited strong opinions from both sides of the family. She hasn`t worn matching socks for almost a year. Each morning, each sock is carefully chosen - Mom, today I`m wearing a yellow sock on the left foot - for example. I figure it is her way of having a little control in her life.

I made a pair of the wool self striping socks in her size. Not really expecting her to wear them, but wanted to try a new-to-me heel and it is easier to practice on a small scale. Though I did deliberately not match the strips on each sock, just in case she liked them.

Well she did like them, and wears them even though it has been in the upper 90`s and low 100`s.

So I`m willing to share the Bday gift and knit in her size. I did decide while swatching that I`d keep the orange wool and make lace socks for me, leaving just a bit for skinny stripes on hers. Orange isn`t really my color, but it will be nice to have a pair that will always remind me of her :)
