The Haapsalu Shawl: A Knitted Lace Tradition

I have the book. No shawl patterns. Its a great collection of stitch patterns and a how to section. Some of the stitch patterns I've seen other places, some are new to me. I was hoping it would have some of the stitch patterns used in Laminaria and others shawl patterns -- the star type. Alas, not so. thus I'm still searching for the elusive and out of print book on estonia lace (whose name escapes me at the moment)

Sonata - user product reviews?

Sonata is great!!! the cable construction makes it soft without being splitty. Wears like iron - I think it would be perfect for childrens sweaters.

Felting

Sometimes its not that the dye bleeds, but rather its migrating fibers. As the wool felts, fibers are released and migrate to other areas. I'm not sure there is much you can do if that is the case.

Hi Dominique -
After reading the posts I don't think you have extra stitches. the key is in Benne's answer, "...The stitch count changes from row to row on this pattern ..."
the written instructions show the stitch count changing R1-115, R2 -121, R3-113 etc....
