I think it is the discontinued Harmony, but the tag is lost so I`m not certain. Yes, I`m keeping it. I just wish it would get cold enough to wear. I wore it unblocked one morning to breakfast with a neighbor, but it really looks better blocked.
The pattern is SK`s - Golden Nugget, found here with the Champagne yarn.
The pattern is really wonderful for varigated yarns. It makes the colors swoop and swirl. It can take a bit to find the rhythm of the pattern, but it is worth the effort.

I had ant farms as a kid. They had air holes in the plastic tubes, as long as the ants were bigger than the holes, then no escaping.
I think boys would like one. I sure did.

Whatcha Knittin?

I`m nearly done with a Shetland Triangle shawl in CamelSpin by Fleece Artist, a silk and camel blend. This is the most wonderful yarn ever created - makes Sea Silk feel like barbed wire. Some of you may remember the camel blends elann offered. Camel is great!
Also working on a horseshoe lace scarf for a friend in Misti Alpaca. Knit double on 6s with a few beads here and there.

Finally Found It - decrease cheat sheet
|
This cheat sheet was given to me when I first learned to knit. It works for decreases on the edges and gives a good edge for picking up later.
Beginning of a knit row: K1, SSK (slants to left)
End of a knit row: Knit till last 3 stitchs, K2tog, knit 1 (slants to right)
Beginning of a purl row: P1 P2tog ( slants right)
Ending of a purl row: purl until 3 remain. Put right needle through next 2 sts from back (knit side) from right to left. Purl sts tog, then purl last.
The instructions go on to say, "This is awkward but is does work and is used when you are forced a decrease on a purl row"
