Need wool recommendations
|
I didn`t do the math to check $/yd, but both the elann Highland wool and the superwash Highland are wonderful yarns, with good value. They are both much softer than Patons Classic.
The superwash had the advantage of not felting when thrown in the washer

remember your very first knitting project?

It was the 80`s - I made a diamond brocade summer top in Classic Elite - white. I wrapped the yarn backwards on all the purl stitches without knowing. When I went to the LYS to get a crochet hook, the sales help pointed out my twisted stitches.
My second project was from Vogue - an intarsia cat sweater - substituting yarns from the expensive ones listed.

Mohair yarn

I combined this mohair with highland wool for a felted hat. Gave it a nices, fuzzy, halo.
Working on a second one as we speak.

So what`s on the needles?
|
I`m working an easy lace and bead scarf for the wife of a co-worker. I already finished his DNA cable scarf. Also have the Laminaria on the needles - not too far along and thinking I need to go up a needle size. I think I`ll start something mindless, maybe a hat for those times when laceweight is too tough to think about.
