Oh, Grace-they are pretty!

Grace, your granddaughters are precious! I`m so glad you were able to post their pictures here. Have you tried to downsize the image size of the pics? I had to do that when I posted my Prairie Shawl here.

Things to do today

Ok, all this talk of food is (munch) making me (munch) hungry! I just posted a recipe for golabki, or stuffed cabbage (att: Bri and Bets!) on my blog! Amy, I want your crispy ball recipe! YUMMY

That`s right, don`t cook the meat first. Put the raw meat and rice mixture into the cabbage leaves, and bake them in a pan. It does take quite a long while, but that is part of the charm!

I just deleted the Google searchbar in my blog, and now the blog now seems to accept comments. What`s up with Google? There are still other parts of Typepad which are not working, though. I also tried to post some comments last week on other Elannite blogs, and after it was accepted, it didn`t appear! Was it just Typepad people who had this problem?

Anyone seen the sneak peek?
|
Is it just me, or is anyone else creeped out by that kid and the wax dummy strapped in those pumpkin suits on the Berocco website?

HUGe progress-making a dent

If 15% done makes you as happy as you are, then I can safely say I have about 3% of mine done! I am more in the planning stage, but I have been thinking about it daily for the past week.

Hedwing takes on and takes off
|
What a bittersweet moment, yet one in which we all knew would occur! For the last 8 years, we have had Mama Duck build a nest under our dryer vent. Each year, there are at least a dozen ducklings, who usually make their getaway when we are not home. We always have to get our binoculars out to see the family, including papa, swim in our pond.

Ok ladies-whatcha knitting?
|
I feel like I`m confessing, but amongst friends, it`s ok: 1) Market Squares Bag with Lamb`s Pride worsted 2) Victoria Cardigan with Gedifra Korfu, from Elann 3) Hats for my munchkins 4) Hats for charity 5) Scarves for Red Scarf Project (see my blog) 6) Highland Triangle Shawl, cashmere 7) Must Have Cardigan with Karabella Aurora 8
Yes, they are ALL on needles right now. :)

Vibe
|
I just saw Berocco`s Vibe at my LYS today. The colors of Vibe from Elann`s website look exactly as they do in the store. The LYS also had examples of the felted bags, which are much nicer in person. It`s not a rough yarn, either, and the slubs of black really give all of the colors character. $10./skein, there. I`m holding out on this one, though. I can hardly stand to look at that mutant pumpkin kid who hawks the yarn for them.

Bets, I know all monitors differ, but would you say the Peacock and the Morning Mist are pretty close to what your monitor shows? I`m just trying to get an idea here. I don`t want the teal too dark - medium is ok.
