Sandra, that`s a lovely shawl on you! Sandra, the color is so pretty worked into that pattern. Please tell us how you adapted it.

FUNNY! I saw that the day it came out and nearly fell off my chair laughing! (Sorry, didn`t think to post it here.) Annie was here in Burbank to teach some classes at `my` LYS. She`s a terrific teacher and a thoroughly delightful woman.

If anyone wants to read a really funny blog, look at Crazy Aunt Purl; if you go back a couple of weeks there`s a really funny one about being on a bus which caught on fire during LA`s rush hour. http://www.crazyauntpurl.com/

Ann-Great sweater on Margaux OMG, Eileen! You rock, as the kids are saying!! I`ll be looking for the book and the picture of your hard work.

Ann-Great sweater on Margaux That`s a great sweater! I`ve wondered how the JOMR patterns work up aside from the great photos-on-pattern, and the answer is - wonderful! It`s a timeless color, not any one season. Great choice!!
I plan to do one of their patterns in Sonata (my very first Elann purchase!), one of these days....LOL!

Don`t look now, but the sneak peeks are a killer! I was very glad to see the green Pasticcio(sp?) go quickly today, since that was calling to me. The JS coming up are beautiful colors and I`m sure they feel wonderful, but they`re not talking to me, which is really good!

Okay, I think I`m gonna live, but DH is in big trouble! My DH brings illnesses home from the office, but I was lucky this year (where`s the wood??). And he does this whole, "tough guys don`t get sick" thing instead of moaning. Which is weird, since he`s not otherwise `macho`.

He had dental surgery, under general anesthesia, on Tuesday to take bone from one side of his jaw and graft it to the other side. When we left the house at 9, he kept saying he was planning on going back to work in the afternoon. After the surgery, at noon, his dentist said "Go HOME!", and DH grudgingly accepted. Frankly, I`d feel better if he moaned and groaned, since I think his way makes the colds and flu last a lot longer than if he`d rest at the beginning. Gotta love him, but figure him out?????

Snaggy callouses? PreciousPups has a good suggestion. My hands get terribly dried out between washing my hands umpteen times a day and then working with the yarn, and my cuticles snag the yarn. I use Neutrogena`s Norwegian Formula hand cream several times a day and overnight with the gloves when they really get bad. It works into the skin quickly and really smooths the rough places.

@#$$%^!!! Who has an unfinished baby project??? Moi. Sweater is up to the armscye, then sleeves. Hat is planned, so are booties; yarn on hand. Maybe 2 weeks to completion? Sorry, I`m slow, and the sweater pattern was written for 4 pieces, not circular, so I have to adjust the shaping.

What is your favorite increase method? When I make an increase with KFB, there`s a little horizontal bar between the 2 `original` stitches. With M1 by picking up the `bar` between sts and then knitting into the back, it makes something more like a smaller knit st.
I find that it`s helpful to ease the left needle toward the right to get the point into the back of the lifted stitch. The point about tightening the yarn a bit really reduces the little `hole` below the lifted st.

Am I doing something wrong that causes the bar in the KFB?

OK, Bri, What is It? I can`t tell what the `perfect` thing is. `Scuse my `doh!` The color is a pretty reddish purple. But????

September on Salt Spring OOH, with all you Elannites to meet, I`m sorry that I can`t come in September. But I`m really looking forward to the Cables group next month. DH has chosen an allover cable pattern for the vest I`ve promised him, so the class is right on topic for me. I`ve posted a picture of my swatch for this, in HW Dusty Teal - LOVE the color!!

CatBook Mom DH jumped right on that, LOL! Thanks. These cables will be a real challenge for me, and I`m looking forward to it, since a swatch is straight, without the shaping needed for a vest. I asked him yesterday if he wanted cables front and back; he said "of course on the back. People will be so jealous when they see your beautiful knitting." Gotta keep this one!!
