Alice Dear Alice,
I read below that you thought HW would work nicely for the Equinox and I breathed a sigh of relief. Thanks for infusing some confidence in my fledgling project!

And they even ate my cooking - tale of an Elann meet-up T-
It sounds like such fun. I`m only slightly jealous!!

FI Jayne at bootcamp T-
I think it sounds like that Dolly Parton song, "Coat of Many Colors," and I like it, even if Bets thinks it`s scary.

canapone questions OK, I have some questions for all you canapone fans or those who got the smaples. I`m making a slew of bath mits for the holidays. Today is the day to get my act together where the gift knit list is concerned.

I have enough OnLine Summertime for 4 -5 of my mits. I am planning to make more than that and was thinking that the canapone might be a good candidate for the more grown up ones. My questions are, how soft is this yarn and what sort of dry-time would I be looking at? Those are the most important yarn features for my bath mits.

Any input, and even alternate suggestions, would be great.

Thanks,
Bri

PS. Stop rolling your eyes that I am onto the holiday list. You know who you are. LOL. I have a few weeks of downtime before the fall semester starts and I`m gonna use it!!!

canapone questions Thanks, Les and Jayne. I got yarn aggressive and bought warm sand and piquant green before they were gone. Enough to double strand and be fine on gauge for the IK pattern I think I might use. Good thing I checked my stash today or else I`d be sad, sad, sad SOL.

I checked the link, Les. Thanks. It`s bookmarked.
Much appreciated!

Circular knitting and the colour change "gap" Jayne,
I knit the Ice Cream Parlor Debbie Bliss pattern from IK Spring 2005 in the round without much trouble because I consciously tried to knit those stitches near the beginning and end a tad tighter, just a little bit of a pull where I wouldn`t on other sittches, without puckering the colorwork. Sometimes, if I think I`m going to really create a ladder, I go to a shorter circ than what the pattern calls for and make it longer once those stitches are established.
Have you tried the Magic Loop for knitting things in the round? That fixed most of my bad habits.

Renaissance knitters- Hmmm...I really like to cook and bake, garden (although not as much I would like), reading, writing, learning languages. I enjoy photography more now that I`ve gone digital. I`ve taken classes in painting, lettering, and life drawing. I would love to take woodshop and to do some more work with furniture and home projects. I`ll let you all know when I invest in a circular saw!! ;)

If anyone has been receiving messageds form the Universe about me T,
I am sorry to hear about the message from the universe. You`d be great at any number of things. What about writing some stories that use your background- I can only imagine what you could come up with- and see what happens? You could always get a degree in creative writing or something that might pay you to write (albeit not well) and get you connected. You`d also be a great community college teacher.

I could keep going. Email me. ;)

This Has to Stop! Barbara,
I almost commited B&E over the weekend when the yarn wench at the LYS in Gainesville told me at 3pm Saturday they were closed and wouldn`t open until today. The party I helped throw was just around the corner and the locks didn`t look *that* secure. I was like a junkie looking for a dealer. It wasn`t pretty.
I`m still not over it. Obviously.

Think about all the good that yarn you donated is doing and feel OK about your stash.

Stash Reduction Already! Barbara,
This is exactly what I talked about yesterday. You always give back, whether its in yarn or finished projects. When you do that, you can`t be THAT worried about what you buy if you ask me.

Keep it up!!
Bri
